Yeah good point. Leaves some money to spend in the off-season too.

I would actually look more at William Wallendir or Carter Mazur as the primary compensation and a 2nd or 3rd on top of it.
Ullmark has been arguably the best goalie in the league over the past two years</div></div>
Yes he has, would you still pay that for him being a UFA, or would that be based off of an extension?

worst move- resigning Kaliyev to play 3rd line role (not a good fit)
worst non-move- not upgrading G
overall- I wouldn't say they really went up or down. Could see a little bump because I think Clarke will be productive in the show, but coming back with the same tandem in net and still relying on an abysmal Dubois contract won't be enough to get them over the hump of the elite west teams
the gm league sounds cool, thx for sharing</div></div>
Thanks for playing! Yeah we do this every year. This is the first year we do a little Off-Season point of view to it. Just a family game of ours!

The old socks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brolekb2b</b></div><div>Best move was probably resigning Stamkos. AAV is a bit steep for a 2 year. An additional year of term would have been nice on that, he'll probably want security when it comes time to negotiate.
Worst move? Oh boy. Seeing as this is 24-25, trading for Jan Rutta has to be up there with other things. If Rutta was in TB's plans he'd have already signed here instead. Lilleberg might need some more developing sure but he's transitioned pretty well to the NHL in his rookie year for us as a 3LD. There's no need to give up an asset for Rutta (and play him at his off-hand on LD) at that AAV when we're still missing a top six scoring help in this lineup, or could use an extra top four RD option instead. Rutta just eats up cap that could be used elsewhere. It's either this or bringing back Barre-Boulet to occupy a roster spot when he's done nothing but cardio for the last 2 months during his NHL stint.
Overall I'd say the team probably gets worse. Rutta is a missed chance to add to the forward core, Conor Sheary is not a legitimate top six option, and the Alex Barre-Boulet is an NHLer experiment has failed, it's time to let go. Also I'm not exactly sure what Girgensons contributes to the bottom six at that cap hit that a guy like Tyler Motte making close to league minimum or a player from Syracuse can't.</div></div>
Thanks for playing! I agree with everything you said!

Yeah lots of questionable moves made by Boston GM. He tried to Trade Ullmark to Detroit but nothing came of it and then he kinda just gave up by the looks of it haha.

Thanks for playing! Yeah the Tampa GM had a tough go. He tried signing Zadorov and then he got overpaid so he went a total different route. I think he lost for not doing enough in general to get better.

Thanks for playing! Yeah I'd argue the Acciari move isn't great cap wise. So that would be worst in my opinion. I think the thinking from the Blues and Panthers GM was similar to the Guentzel deal. Obviously though this trade was made in off-season so that would change the value for sure compared to TDL.

Re-Evaluate The Evaluator
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>1. Best move: getting Marchenko to sign for less than $5M, I'm 100% expecting a 4x$5.5M or something like that.
2. Worst move: Bean for 4 years? He's a serviceable defenseman, but a bottom-pair LD isn't the guy you lock up like that.
3. Improve? Yes, adding a top veteran UFA goalie and top UFA center while keeping the majority of the current roster is going to improve the team nearly every time.
The tweaks I'd make: find a way to move Elvis, get Jiricek on the 1st or 2nd pair, and probably not sign Lindholm. I know he makes the team better now, but that'll be an albatross contract in 4ish years right when the rest of the team is ready to fully compete. If you really believe in Fantilli, signing him shouldn't be necessary.</div></div>
Thanks for playing! Yeah i totally agree with everything you said.

Montreal got him. 6 years/$6Mil. Big pay. Apparently I've reaching my posting limit for the day so can only post tomorrow.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>Ok i'll give it a try. I think Philly came out on top here. Holl may be bad but Belpedio is worse, he's an AHL player. That means Detroit's GM gave Philly a 2nd and a 3rd to move Holl. That's pretty bad roster management when Holl's buyout would be $1.13M or 4 seasons. Does this make Detroit worse? You really can't answer that with any accuracy without seeing Detroit's roster.
To answer the last question. Even though Detroit is down grading from Holl to Belpedio it doesn't make them worse right now since they won't need to play Belpedio very much. That still doesn't make giving up a 3rd and a 2nd to move Holl any better.</div></div>
Thanks for playing! My personal opinion, yeah I totally agree with you haha. Philly GM fleeced Detroit on this one.

Rolling in Dough
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AEcho</b></div><div>All in all, not a bad job.
1. Best move made: Securing Carrier to that deal. Carrier has been a rockstar defensively for NSH and the deal and term are honestly great imo and it solidifies the right side so NSH can continue looking for a true 1st pair RD.
2. Worst move made: The Reilly Smith deal. This deal is honestly less than ideal. Nothing against Smith, but the issue is the contract. If NSH was to go out and get Teravainen, then I'd rather fill in that gap either with another free agency move or internally with someone like L'Heureux, who has had a monster 1st season in the AHL and could compete for significantly cheaper and not have to give up assets and that much cap space for someone who doesn't have a long term spot on the team.
Overall: the team is improved, but not really in a way that I think would be best for the team long-term</div></div>
Thanks for the comments! Yeah my personal opinion is the signings done by the GM were good, but the trades were pretty bad in my opinion. Well not necessarily bad, just not ideal like you said for Nashville.
