I wouldn't acquire one season of Robby Fabbri and a guy who wouldn't even make the roster and whose $3.4 million cap hit would have to be buried in San Diego just to move from pick #35 to pick #15 - 17.
And I certainly wouldn't use the Edmonton first to acquire one season of Neal Pionk. We're not making the playoffs next season.</div></div>
From an Anaheim standpoint I’d probably do it because I think they could get a low pick out of Fabbri at half retention and just buy Holl out.
Not bad to move up to the mid 1st. I can see an argument against, but in my mind, the only reason you don’t do that is if your ownership isn’t willing to spend the raw dollars.

Even tho MM has 50 points, he would play in the Bottom 6 next year with Robertson Pavelski Johnston Duchene Benn Stankoven Bourque Seguin all there. And at 4.5M for a 3rd-4th liner it becomes expensive.
Can we talk about the team Jim Nill made? Everyone is sleeping on him. And they still have crazy good prospects with crazy good young stars and top6 players. And the Goaltending is one of the best. Defense is also solid with Miro Harley Tanev Lindell and Etc. And Bischel has yet to come

The 1st + Bahl is a good start for Andersson but it'll take a bit more than that (not Bastian) and Calgary won't be throwing in Pospisil.

Rob Blake isn't ABOUT to trade Phillip Danault. His acquisition is what Blake points to every time someone mentions Pierre-Luc DuBois. And Trevor Moore -- Danault -- Viktor Arvidsson/Kevin Fiala has been our most productive and consistent forward line since January 1, 2023 -- that's right, 2023, not 2024. That's over a season and a half of excellence.

Hawks decline both of those deals. Bryson isn't a guy the Hawks would take for free. He literally fills no need the Hawks have on their blue line. I'd imagine he doesn't get a qualifying offer so he'll be a UFA July 1st. No need for any team to waste a pick on him. Skinner likely isn't waiving for Chicago. But even if he did, the 3rd year on Skinner's contract is probably a deal breaker in a trade to the Hawks. And he's not a $9m player anyway, so a pick swap isn't enough to move him.

Barrie was part of the Eklholm trade. Feel like that was a misrepresentation.

They did resign Hanifin but he is only going to be making 2.1M more than Martinez who's contract is expiring. Hertl's contract is retained for all 7 years.
Do they have to shed some cap to keep Marchessault? Yeah probably but not much, and trading Barby to do that is completely counterproductive

See no logic in these....two guys entering their final years...for a top 15 pick. And before you say it...you can't extend them until July 1st, after the trade, so you have zero guarantees.

Nemec + Holtz + what’s currently the 10th pick is an absurd price for a player who’s not a superstar

So you trade 1OA, dump two god awful contracts, for 3OA at worst next year, Sidney Crosby, and 4 years retention on Letang
Not to mention next year's draft is much stronger than this years, and at worst you're getting 3OA, could very well get 1st.

Without Crosby and Letang, that 25 1st is more likely to be 1OA than this years Habs pick is.

Agreed. The trade just recreates the problem they have now where in the next couple years, players like Ohgren and Yurov are going to need roster spots and they're loaded with veterans occupying those spots. Giving up a 1st round pick for a rental is dumb if you're not a legit Cup contender and extending them would be short sighted IMO.

Sturm has 13 points, nobody is paying a second for an overpaid fourth liner.
Signing and trading a player makes no sense, the other team would have just signed Kubalik without giving up assets. He's also not worth a 2nd.
Iafallo doesnt cost a first to dump.

At times he's been very negative towards his own teammates & recently shot a puck into the seats at a home game. Some games it seems like the skaters play harder for the other goalies. The Avs have a reputation for being loyal, but if Georgiev burned that bridge he has to be moved.

Considering defense has been the only strength on the team this year I'm not sure why you are making it worse. All the D coming is a downgrade in the zone from what is going out.
Larsson isn't getting moved, especially for that weak of an offer.
I could see the Oleksiak trade happening but I doubt RF does it for one year of a pending UFA.
RF doesn't trade 1st rounders historically and I doubt Chychrun is the player that gets him to do that.

If Matheson was an RHD, wasn't 30, was good defensively and the ask didn't include Barlow, the Jets look at it. As it stands, Matheson isn't worth close to that much and as an LHD he has little value to Winnipeg.
