for 2.6 mil cap hit I'm doing that deal. Canes need goal scorers, he is a goal scorer with a low cap hit and low term. So if it doesnt work out canes aren't hamstrung by it. That has canes written all over it.

yeah, 9.5 mil in Toronto is not the same as 9.5 mil in Nashville, Tampa, Vegas etc. and still in Carolina, but to a lesser extent.

You cant make a decision based off removing a players best asset to prove their worth. If my grandmother had wheels, she would have been a bike.

He is a fantastic bottom pair D who can play up temporarily in a pinch. IF you can get him for 2 mil per you do it everyday.

yep, dont disagree. I just think as Pesce gets older and slower and the league gets faster and faster it could go off the rails quickly. I'm not saying Chatfield couldn't improve his positioning, of course. I think the chances of that improving are much better with experience than Pesce's skating improvement. essentially I just think they are on different arcs in their play, and one costs WAY more than the other.
