Larkin Trade
For an extended Larkin I’d consider this for canes. Would have to pull Chat out and sub with something else. He’s played great for us and we’re already looking to shore up depth on D so that would mean we need 2 more third pair type guys. Doubt he’s a dealbreaker for DET though.

Fair trades for Cat
Not sure the Rangers would consider moving Chytil but the pure value there is in their favor. Carolina would be getting an absolute steal, that would be one of the most lopsided trades in hockey history

I love Rants, I love Bear... a 1st rounder and a middle six winger for a free agent signing and what they got for Warren Foegele feels like a trade well worth it to me... you can move JP elsewhere. You get a 1st for these two? I'd be chomping at the bit.

I like the idea of this, I really think Carolina can bring in a lot of talent if they can avoid any cap mistakes
I have to imagine Staal will still be on the team and at less than 6M
Only problem for this team is the off-sesason after, I'm curious to see what you would do then

Idk I disagree there - Canes would likely accept that deal and gladly pay the extra cap hit.

He turned down 6 mil per year from MN last offseason. Necas is an RFA so that complicates things for MN too. I’d imagine MN declines on this, seeking a first and a prospect with cheap term. Unless Necas signs a fairly cheap deal, but not sure he does that? Feels like If OTT offers 7OA, Fiala is going to OTT.</div></div>
i think Necas is lined up perfectly for Minnesota right now. Necas knows he is worth more than what he will be offered for 5+ years from any team and will look for a short bridge deal to regain it. A nice 2 year bridge deal works perfect for Minnesota and Necas.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>yztnuK</b></div><div>Skjei is not returning a 1st and that package doesnt get you in ASU to talk to the GM of Zona</div></div>
Don’t see why Skjei couldn’t net a first when you saw what the market was for dmen with less term and arguably had been playing worse than Skjei (Risto, Chiarot for example).
Throw some more / different picks or prospects into the Chych deal. It’s the base of the trade, don’t be so dramatic.

Maybe. The Canes have been pretty successful at getting their RFAs to extend long-term ever since they began to show signs of being a contender, not dissimilar to Tampa or Boston. Players are more likely to commit long-term if the team is good.

Necas shouldn't be signing a 1-year deal. Minimum 3.
