Knight has had some off the ice issues. I won't get into that. But it's hard to gauge his trade value right now.

There's no way SJ is retaining 4 years at 4 mil AAV on EK65. 3 mil AAV at the most in my opinion. Hard to include a 3rd team in this trade because, what's in it for them? Hard for them to get any value retaining 1.75 mil for 4 years. It's like paying for a buy out player.

I don't think McBain is available. He's cheap, big, young and can pop in a few goals. Plus he's a Toronto boy which is likely why you want him playing for the Leafs.

That's not getting Schmaltz. Quantity for quality trade here. Brodie is a rental. Robertson and Hirvonen are prospects plus a late 1st. This offer is easily beaten. Young centres entering their prime cost a premium. This doesn't cut it. And you want McBain included? Nope.
