<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div>Even from a fan perspective, it sucks. Its giving GM's a lazy way of making themselves seem like they are doing a good job.
The GM's who thought signing Lucic, Ericksson, Okposo, Ladd etc all thought they were smart at the time and so did their owners......... Now they'll have to make a bunch of new silly signings that will haunt their teams in 3-5 years down the line but the fans are be yet again stuck watching garbage skating around the ice as a result.
Teams like Tampa will get out of their cap hell unscathed while the Canadian teams will overpay and be screwed because of it and the circle of Bettman's wet dream will continue forever.</div></div>

Pretty descent ideas IMO. 👍 For originality at least.
CAR needs to add because of the salary retention. Fleury development is stagnating and he doesn't have the value he used to.
Those conditional 1st round picks in the PHI trade are just silly 😂

I think you’re assessment of Romanov and Sandin is fair. They were only picked like 9spots from each other at the draft. Both are incredibly close, but Sandin has the edge in offensive ability, or at least has proven more so far. Romanov probably more well rounded and more physical, but a tad less offensive. He’s purely used in a defensive role on the KHL’s best team. Only chance we’ve been able to see his offensive game has been at the WJ’s

If Eichel Requested Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BDeRousse89</b></div><div>Thomas is 20 years old to Eichel’s 23. Eichel was not Eichel today at 20 if I’m not mistaken. Thomas in 3 years will be in the same league as Eichel, imo. If not, pretty darn close. Thomas’ 2 more years of ELC sure is nice too as opposed to a 10M AAV when that would obviously mean Pietrangelo is no longer a Blue. Obviously Eichel is an MVP type player and the original trade is pretty fair but considering Thomas’ potential is what makes it difficult is all I’m saying on top of the likelihood of losing Captain Pietrangelo. Even with all that, even I admit it would nice consolation. :)</div></div>
Lets look back 3 years for Eichel then. (and I am not saying anything negative about Thomas, just addressing this... comparison) Thomas' second year obviously not over yet, hence the per/82 to level it off.
Thomas @ 20, 2 years in the league: 119gp 18-46-64; 12.4g/82gms, 44.1pts/82gms
Eichel @20, 2 years in the league: 142gp 48-65-113; 27.7g/82, 65.3pts/82gms
12g 44pts vs 28g 65pts... Seems basically equal.

I haven't read anything about galchenyuk having a drinking/drug problem.</div></div>
He has a known abuse problem. I don't know if he's still on the sauce or not. No one does. That doesn't come out until it's too late.
I will say one thing about him. I have never really seen him do stupid things that hurt the team.

Rumors rumors
I agree with Glass and a first being a gross overpayment for Jeff Petry, but the expectation that he'd draw a comparable return to what the Leafs paid for Muzzin in not wrong.
The Tatar deal is fine, though there are other destinations that make more sense -- DAL, COL, CGY and EDM especially.
I like the Kovalchuk for Puljujarvi idea as an elegant way to help EDM out of a sticky situation. It would surely require some future considerations in the event Puljujarvi returns to North Am and actually becomes the player his draft profile suggested he'd be. My guess is he signs in the KHL and spends his career there. Replace Weal with Kulak.
Whichever team loses out on the Pageau sweepstakes should take Weal.
I think the Habs should keep Scandella and re-sign him. He seems a stabilizing influence and happy to be home. It would mean Habs wouldn't have to rush Romanov and would have the luxury to dangle Mete if the right deal were on the table.

I thought the same when the Habs first signed him. and his time with the Habs has been really short, but for his short stint he's been great defensively lol finishes his checks and backchecks and all.

Absolutely not. We have to be the best team in the league if we expect to make the playoffs. Unless Price returns to Price, it's not happening. We'd be better off selling.
I honestly think tonight's game is the last straw, if we win, there remains hope, if we lose, we are selling.

Montreal rejects. Don't think Fowler fits into our age group. By the time we are ready to compete, he will be in his very late 20's/early 30's.

Seeing as MTL is sort of rebuilding, I don't think trading a 24 year old Domi for a 28 year old Fowler makes a whole lot of sense.
