Yes it does have something to do with Quinn you've just ignored it. The sabres powerplay is bad by design. Having a PP that runs through 3 out of the 5 guys and hardly goes down low is bad, they get bailed out by having an insanely talented defenseman quarterbacking and having two laser shots on the dots. Thats PP1 though, the second unit is basically worthless. Its a thrown together mess thats constantly changed and relies on the shot of Kyle Okposo to try and score. Shame Mr. "Top PP guy in the league" cant do much besides lose puck battles along the boards. (I know he scored last night, but he did something similar in Calgary and then stunk until yesterday so might want to wait on that) He only plays on the PP and PK because he can win draws. Hes great at faceoffs, thats pretty much it.
Also in what world is Casey a physical player, he gets bullied in like every game. Dylan cozens is a more physical player LOL
Earlier on you brought up the fact that Quinn wasnt a center (He was in ROCH for a little bit) and had less points(way less TOI overall and less games btw), which is a really dumb take. The sabres have the center depth to move on. Thompson, Cozens, Krebs, Asplund, and even Girgensons. Points arent everything either, do you think Jokiharju is better than samuelsson?

Tweaking the roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>worldwidesensei</b></div><div>When? They are 18.
Girgensons has more points than Gretzky this year, btw.
It's funny, people said "Mitts will be better than ROR"
When do people ever learn? Prospects don't always turn out like you think they will and certainly not on the timeline you think they will. It was just one year ago that people were calling Dahlin terrible and trying to trade Tage for a 2nd round pick.
If Kulich, Rosen, Ostlnd were better than Mitts, they would be playing. Instead Mitts is a top PP and PK F in the league.
Maybe in 5 years those guys can be better than Mitts. Maybe.</div></div>
Is there a different guy in the league with the nickname "Mitts", because I dont think we are talking about the same player. Casey is bad, thats it. While the prospects may not be as good as Mittelstadt the bar is really low so I got confidence.
Also Casey isnt a top PP and PK guy either, regardless of stats. The sabres PP is god awful and the second unit is a different kind of bad. The same second unit where ole Mitts constantly loses puck battles and cant do jack.
You forgot to make an excuse for Quinn sitting btw

Dont need to worry about drafting a guy better than mitts when there already is one who has to watch from the press box lol. Kulich,Rosen,Savoie,Ostlund will all be better than mitts btw

Options for Kap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Funksoljah</b></div><div>The main reason you see a lot of Buffalo fans dealing him is due to the glut of similar forwards on the team and in the pipeline. They have Thompson, Cozens, Krebs, and Mittelstadt at center currently with Savoie, Ostlund, and Kulich whom were just drafted all being centers. Some see Mittelstadt as the odd man out at some point, and I don't completely disagree long term. That said Kap doesn't fill a need for the Sabres at all, they'd just be removing one forward to replace him with another.
What Buffalo needs most is a top 4 right handed Dman along with half the NHL teams. If they were to add a forward it would either need to be a top line player (a significant upgrade type) or a player who can play in the middle 6 who has a ton of grit to his game (someone like Foligno, Greenway, Wilson etc.). They have a ton of middle 6 skilled forwards but lack the high end skill and lack that guy that other teams hate to play against.
Just my opinion, I'm sure others may disagree.</div></div>
Your pretty accurate tbh. Sabres dont need another forward. However Mitts is the odd man out right now, they keep benching quinn (who looks better than half the team) for Casey to stink up whatever line he's on

Sabres fans want Mittelstadt dealt because he's been the worst forward on the team in nearly every game. He was destined to leave barring a Thompson like explosion but he's taking up space at this point. Sabres keep benching guys like Hinostroza and Quinn for him to continue to suck

2023 2024 Edmonton Oilers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shibbal18</b></div><div>Sabres don't want Tyson Barrie especially just to move up 10 spots, and lose Murray on top of that... Nah</div></div>
Entirely wrong. Barrie isnt bad at all and moving up ten spots in this deep of a draft is great. Murray isnt a loss either btw because the influx of prospects that will most likely end up in Rochester is far greater than hanging on to a guy who cant crack the Sabres roster

two yrs
Absolutely brutal Mitts contract. Two yrs from now he shouldnt be a sabre barring a nuclear explosion like Tages
Cozens should be the 2C with peterka on his side and keep Tuch with Tage.
I wouldnt want Tyler Myers for that now let alone two years later.

Getting Borgen Back

Seattle would be jumping for joy with a haul like that. Johnsons a first round pick and Portillo is a top goalie prospect.
