Agreed. I guess Parker Ford is just flying standby in case something happens between the morning skate and the game, that is, guaranteeing a regular a night off instead of coming in at the last minute if someone on the roster gets sick.

Looks like we are getting more clarity. From McIntryre (Free Press):

Somewhat surprised they didn't call up Heinola, but I guess they have alot of D on the roster to begin with.
Gaffar (VAN reporter) tweeted that Boeser didn't make the trip to WPG.
Edit:
John Lu (TSN): Boeser, Miller, Hronek and Cole will sit tonight. Demko will start.

24-25 Sharks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>redboi</b></div><div>Fair. My thought process: The Jets could be looking to resign a bunch of their acquired UFAs as well (Monahan, Toffolli) or even another top UFA with that money. I thought we could get a first looking at the Monahan trade, trade away a piece that’s a negative asset at 6 million dollars for a 1st two years (that could have conditions) down the line. Probably a bit unrealistic tho looking back.</div></div>
The way I look at it is that Schmidt has a value of -$1.1 million ($4.9 millon market value minus $6 million contract [The Athletic calcs]). Compensation for eating $1.1 million for one year would be the #68 overall pick according to PuckPedia's calculator.
I could see them trying to sign Monahan but Toffoli is probably too expensive in terms of dollars and term.

Sit out regulars against VAN
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>toque</b></div><div>The Moose callups depend on how they are doing re: home ice advantage. Brossoit is already confirmed to start.
I think Lowry & Monahan are for sure going to sit, they have consistently took the option for morning skates. Ehlers will play because he wants to play a full 82, already told the media how much it would mean to him.</div></div>
While I would like Monahan to get to 83 regular season games this year, I think he may sit as you said.
I also read that Bowness said all of the healthy scratches last game are likely to see game action.

Dubois
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Robinho3799</b></div><div>No chance in this world, that LA is going to retain a total of $17,500,000 over 7 years for dumping PLD. They better give him the chance for a full season to play with to solid wingers (this season he mainly played with Anderson-Dolan and Laferriere). Anderson-Dolan, sorry to say, was not really NHL level and Laferriere did not have a bad season, but his first NHL year. So it's a tough line to start to play with in your first year with a new team.
Of course PLD performed well under expactations, but this needs to be considered. If PLD can play a full season with a guy like Arvidsson and another solid winger, I am sure his numbers will look different next year, even when he centers the 3rd line.
Kings shoud have also no interest in the package, especially not in Davorak and Primeau. I find it interesting that you don't believe in Primeau. How then could he improve a contending team?
Also: You would offer Cam Talbot §3,500,000 for two years? I mean he's great this season (and gladly healthy) but don't forget that he's turning 38 before the next season starts.</div></div>
To add to this, trading Dubois (especially with retention) would be Blake admitting he made a huge mistake. GMs have alot of pride.

I read that hockey operations (but not business operations) is moving to SLC with the team, so I think they would say no. That said, if Smith changes things up to bring in their own people (like what Chipman/Thomson did when they bought the Thrashers) then you have a sliver of hope.

This looks like exactly what Bowness would do. That said, I think Stanley would be on the bubble just because of the opponent -- COL is fast so they may put in Schmidt instead.

Jets will need the ELC of Lambert next year and I think they will hold onto Stanley. Chevy didn't give up on Stanley when he wasn't playing well, so why would he do that now as it seems like he has turned a corner.

I would prefer to see Pionk on the third pair with Samberg so they can shelter his minutes and give Miller another shot in the lineup with Dillon but I sincerely doubt that’ll happen considering Bones thinks Pionk is an elite 2D lol. Anyways I hope Bones keeps the forward lines the way they are for a while, but I’m open to changes as long as Schiefele doesn’t play with Connor and does play with Ehlers.</div></div>
I'd agree with that defensive setup and I also agree that we are screaming into the void. lol

I think the Jets will sign Perfetti to a bridge contract. I doubt Chevy will want to risk Hronek using arbitration to get him to UFA status in a year, compared to Perfetti who will be under team control for quite a while (4 years).

Looked it up. The Athletic says Schmidt's market value is $4.2 million so he is underperforming his contract by around $1.8 million.
The cost to move him would be a late 2nd round pick according to PuckPedia's calculator (moving $1.8 million of underperformance)

Jets GM:
1. What was the best move made by the GM?
Not driving home because he obviously smoked alot of crack.
2. What was the worst move made by the GM?
Getting out of bed then making the trade. Should have just slept.
3. Did the GM improve the team or make them worse?
Jets GM made the Habs better

Wiebe has Perfetti on the 5th line before the Jets take on the weakest team left on the schedule. With the team healthy and only more difficult teams left on the schedule, I wouldn't be surprised if Perfetti saw some action with the Moose.
I also like how OP sat Pionk for a game.
