Deadline day - proven playoff performer with term
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tonyhzs</b></div><div>Toronto needs to add a LOT more considering the divisional ramifications for next year if there is any retention. I could see a trade out west being possible, but not in the east and certainly not to a division opponent; adding to the fact it is an old rival too.
How's a 1st, Niemela and Knies?</div></div>
He's a 55-60 point winger that turns 35 in May. He's not worth a team's top two prospects *and* a 1st - you're literally asking for a bigger package than young RFA wingers like Fiala & Debrincat got. The Tyler Toffoli trade is probably the best comp for a Perron trade - Calgary gave up a 1st, a solid prospect (Emil Heineman), and a couple of lower picks to get Toffoli, and sent Tyler Pitlick's expiring deal to offset some costs. OP's offer is light, but I think a 1st/3rd/Niemela would get Perron with retention, or you could swap that 3rd out for a worse pick and send back a contract (Pierre Engvall?) - but anything beyond that is too much for Toronto to pay.

Stevie won't trade his son Adam Erne. I'd trade Suter and Zadina. I hate thinking about trading Bert but it seems inevitable at this point.

Except he's reportedly asked to be traded, and the Oilers are supposedly trying to accommodate his request per sportsnet. Wouldn't be shocking or the first time he wanted out.

600 min with McDavid and 300 away might explain some of that.

Wings are a team that can pull it off too. Not many can due to cap not going up much. I also doubt we see one, but i am hoping we do.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>Holland was asked about Puljujarvi's next contract and responded that he hasn't talked to his agent yet. What about that indicates that Puljujarvi is on his way out??
In any case, your valuation is all wrong. Puljujarvi's on-ice impact was top-5 in the league this year, he's not a throw-in.</div></div>
So he was top 5 in the league, but can’t score to save his life while playing with McDavid? Sounds about right why he would be on his way out. Whether PJ’s on ice impact was top 5 or bottom 5 in the league isn’t what matters to other teams. First glance they will see he played with McDavid for most of the season and couldn’t even put up 40 points. If he can’t even do that with McDavid, what’s the likelihood other teams can get more offensive production out of him. He is elite defensively, and would more than likely benefit from going to a team that actually has a structured defensive game, but his offensive game is not good enough to warrant him to get anything more than a 2nd in most people’s eyes.
As for the Canes trade, I’m not sure Canes do that since it seems they are running it back. Valuation is fine albeit probably still a bit high since Necas still can take that next step.

As long as you sign Copp I'm good with the Monahan trade. I don't like losing Bertuzzi but that might be worth it. But I don't think Carolina would accept that. I'm not big on JP and I never have been so.....

i think flames are gonna have to pay a little more to dump Monohan. Leafs payed a 1st to dump Marleau with a very similar contract when cap space wasn't stagnant

Potentially put a mid round pick going back towards Carolina?</div></div>
Yeah I guess but bert isn't that expensive a target so they may not need retention to take him but it does give them flexibility. A mid round pick coming back or maybe Detroit takes Gardiner in the deal.

I'm not really sure what you're getting it. Barzal is a great player, but so is Larkin. To suggest that Barzal is head and shoulders above Larkin is ludicrous.
Other than his first year in the league he's barely averaged 60 points...

Earlier your argument was Larkin sucks because he hasn't hit 73 pts. Now your argument is that Barzal's better because you can't see advance stats when I provide a chart that references GSVA to you. I think we're done here lol.
