Joseph is off to a hot start this season, I'm pretty sure Ottawa is gonna give up on Kubalik before paying to get rid of Joseph IMO

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NDoody</b></div><div>Now we are talking.
I don't know why so many ACGM's for Sens getting Pinto in completely ignore Grieg. Jarventie has had a great camp, but I would argue that it would be better to keep Kubalik for now, and let Jarventie work his way up to that spot if earned once he is playing reg season games.
I also have a hard time a team takes the Jospeh trade seems the ask is still pretty high no matter what the team is.</div></div>
I don’t disagree with keeping Kubalik I just am kinda leaning towards keeping Brannstrom because I’m not sure if anyone else would be able to slot into the top 4 incase of injury.

lol didn't know McLeod was Andlauer's daughter's boyfriend.
ok so let me see, what do I prefer to have?
McLeod
2024 1st round pick (EDM)
OR
Pinto
Joseph
2024 2nd round pick (OTT)
2025 2nd round pick (OTT)
2024 4th round pick (TBL)
Yeah, not even close. Again, I'd much rather just waive Dominik Kubalik than do this
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeterChiarelli</b></div><div>I think if you dropped the 1st headed to Ottawa and found a way to guarantee that Norris signs an identical deal to the one McLeod has, it would be at least strongly considered by the Oilers' side. I don't think NHL clubs are at the "doing other teams favours with the cap" point of the season yet.
I really like McLeod's defensive utility considering the juggernaut Edmonton already maintains with its top two lines. Norris has better offensive output and I love myself a RHC, but unless Josh shows the same kind of two-way and PK upside, it's a tough sell that I'd probably begrudgingly accept.</div></div>
You meant Pinto lol but no chance Ottawa do any of this. Joseph is just as good as Mcleod defensively and produces similar offense, they are actually very similar players
Not going to pay Pinto, two seconds and a 4th for a late first round pick...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NDoody</b></div><div>If Pinto was willing to take that money the deal would be done I would think.
Sens offer was 1x1 and Pinto's ask was 2 x 2.5, so that would mean Pinto came down a lot.
Just horrible assets management by Dorian, and the lose of Thompson is even worse, why not use him as a sweetener in trade?</div></div>
Pinto may not any choice but to take 1.6m if he wants to play in the NHL this season.
Out of playoff teams shouldn't be cap trouble, but the Dorion has managed it

I can't see Dorion turning that down!!!
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sens65</b></div><div>And we counter with Roby Jarventie and a 6th for Guentzel.</div></div>
Looking at Jarventie in camp, you do your best to never bring him in trade talks. Actually, Dorion said so last year and people understand why now :
Bruce Garrioch @SunGarrioch
<em>Dorion says five or six names come up in discussions about trades. Ridly Greig, Shane Pinto, Jake Sanderson and <strong>Roby Jarventie</strong> are among the names that other GM's ask about. Doesn't want to trade any of those guys</em>. #Sens

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ross_Johnston</b></div><div>Pinto is pretty mid. had 35 points this year. he isn't a difference maker</div></div>
Pinto's value has barely anything to do with "<em>35 points this year</em>". It's completely non-productive to mention it when talking about his value.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ross_Johnston</b></div><div>20 goals isn't that elite. taylor raddysh had 20 goals. so did andreas athanasiou</div></div>
Let's completely ignore the ages, 2-way ability, and the fact that Pinto was a rookie thrown into a very difficult role he was not ready for after missing a full season due to injury

We want the cup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TkachukNorris79</b></div><div>I agree with this from an acquiring team's perspective, but from Ottawa's perspective, they don't HAVE to make a trade to become cap compliant. It would leave them with only 18 skaters and 2 goalies but it's doable. Meaning they aren't COMPLETELY leveraged. If teams are asking for a 1st to take Joseph, they should just waive him and save $1.15M and give that to Pinto in addition to the $895k of space they currently have.
It's not like they 100% need to offload someone, it just puts them in a really ****ty spot if they don't but i'd rather risk it until someone gets hurt over giving a 1st to offload a useful yet overpaid player.</div></div>
Well, that depends what Pinto and his agent are asking for. We can't just assume that'll be enough. But, yeah, they'll take that, it could work.

Testing this out
That is interesting......
I would have to think Grier at least listens to it.
Sokolov's game has him rounding out to be a Barabnov type guy..... defensive game aside.
Bernard-Docker looks to be a competent 6-7 D now.
Joseph is more than a useful piece here..... the contract has always been the hang up.
Not sure the 2-2nds are necessary. One fore sure. Bit I guess that depends on what Grier thinks of the two youngsters and how they should fit into the Sharks long term plans.
I really like Benning here as a Sens puck up. A lot.
