I don't have links, but I bet if you search it with 5 players suspended you'll get some hits. There was also a picture from one of the player's phones used in the investigation that was circling around Twitter saying it is these 5 which had Formenton, McLeod, Howden, Raddysh and I forget the last one.

I don't see this roster as an improvement, it is actually a slower team. You also traded away another 2 1st rounders, You are gonna need those when Mathews walks to another team.

In the first 15-20 games Joseph will prove last season was just a down year and he's good to go, thereby making him much easier/cheaper to move.</div></div>
I loved the idea of playing more of a 3 top lines format, they did that for a while last season and Joseph looked really good playing with Tkachuk and Norris. As well I love the idea of Giroux playing with Greig & Pinto to help move their development. Stutzle and Tarasenko seem like a match made in heaven and Stutzle is primed for another even bigger year.

Acquire another LTIR player.
In all likely hood, I think that Joseph has to be moved, but he would have to be showcased.
We haven't heard anything about Forsberg yet, which isn't good. Tearing MCLs in both knees at the same time is something no NHL player especially a goalie has ever had. The timeline for a single MCL tear with no surgery is normally 6 months, and that is rehabbing with a strong leg. Rehabbing both at the same time will likely take a month or two longer, then add time to get back to game shape. That timeline would have him back to full strength until mid October. I don't expect him to be available until around then in the first place.

Mercer is Younger, has much better Defensive play, and has put up good numbers in earlier years on a better deeper team that isn't always playing against other teams back ups.
7x7 would be a steal for Mercer, with the Cap going up by as much as 5M next off season he would likely start in the 8s.

100% Perry gets traded to more of a contender at the deadline and Sens don't have the means to make the trade.
I am hopeful Sens would be in the playoff mix, but still wouldn't be a favorite lets be honest.

But Stone will be healthy some of the time and then when he is healthy Sens won't have the cap for him.
Batherson is not going to be part of the WJC scandal, there are several repots around about the 5 expected players facing suspension and Batherson isn't mentioned in a single one.

Very likely. Nothing is for sure until it is named, but I was just posting what I heard.
I really do not think that Batherson is involved. I know he hasn't said anything publicly, but anyone who knows anything or has dealt with a lawyer knows the first rule is no comments, no matter what.

I really have a hard time believing that Anaheim is going to give up a good young player in Lundestrom just because he is going to be out 5-6 months. They have years of value to get from him still.

It was commented on and reposted by a few Sens Twitter accounts. It is quoted as coming from a league source, it also matches a few other team reporters around the league that say up to 5 players getting suspended. There is also a previously private picture of the 5 of them from one of their social media accounts DM's from the night of the event that was used in the investigation that has been going around.

While I am not sure if this trade is the right trade for both teams, however, What I haven't seen anyone mention here is that it has been mentioned a couple of times on Sportsnet and Tsn is that Boston is one of Scheifele's top preferred teams to get moved to, he does have a modified NTC, and the Jets seem open to helping him get to a team he wants. This all changes the trade value for him a lot especially after having made over $50 M after this season mabye he signs for less with a team he wants to play off.

Key is Vegas signed almost all the players they traded for long-term. They didn't make a move to let someone walk after one year.

Very Strong Playoff Team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Avsfantrumpetman</b></div><div>I'm sorry, but that many prospects in the bottom 6 along with mediocre goaltending aren't indicators of a strong playoff team. If those young guys are as good as they're hyped up to be, then Ottawa is in good shape. But if consistency issues happen, then we are looking at the same thing we've seen for a while: A very fun team to watch that only wins about half their games.</div></div>
There are not really all prospects in this bottom 6. But Sens does have a good cupboard for them. Here is my honest take on them.
Pinto is already almost a top 6 C, and is a great 3 C at 22 that is a great place to be. He had to play the top 6 minutes last season for stretches and didn't see that far off. He is great in the faceoff circle, tall a great playmaker and has show grown in his whole 200 ft game since going pro.
Grieg is NHL-ready and will fit in nicely on the 3rd line this year. If he continues to develop at the pace he has been on he will be a good top 6 winger. He played very well in the 20 games he got called up for last season 9 pts in 20 gms and 15 goals in 39 gms in AHL.
Sanderson is going to be a future top D on the team and very well could be a top 10 in the league. Not mentioned in any ACGM is also Kleven at 6'4 he was teammates with Sanderson and Pinto at North Dakota, hits hard, shots hard, a big-time comparable to Phaneuf in many ways. He will play full minutes AHl this season and then very likely be on the team and a future top 4 D after this season.
Kastliec is exactly what he is and going to probably be there for a while. I would not consider him a prospect anymore. At 6'4 and age 24 he is a long-term 4 C that is physical, good defensively, and decent in faceoff dot. With a league min contract for this and next season nothing wrong there at all, I would have him as my 4C for the next 5 years.
Smekjal is not a prospect, despite being on ELC and coming from overseas. He is 26 and in the same vein as Kastlic, Kelley, and MacEwan is a large physical, and hard to play against 4th liner.
Any combo of those 4 players as the 4th line is going to wear down, bruise, and frustrate every team this coming season.
While the team is banking a lot on Korpy coming in and doing well. There is also Sogaard in the system he is still only 22 but a 6'8 monster from Denmark that played 3 full seasons in the WHL on a horrible medicene Hat team that dragged them into the playoffs and won WHL goalie of the year. during covid, he went back to Europe and took his team to the league finals. He has had a rough transition to the AHl not being able to get his GAA below 2.5 however Belleville has been pretty bad the last two seasons as well. Hopefully this season he can get back on the development track he was on.
Sens also have 6'5 winger Sokolov who played in the Q and is not as much of a scorer as originally hyped, 19 G and 21 G in the last two AHL seasons, but still has the potential to grow into a good 3rd line player that could get you 10-15 goals a season in the NHL.

Yah they have a little over $4M in cap space rn with Kevin Bahl still to sign.
Next summer Dawson Mercer is due. Even at a bridge deal and resigning players for less they don't have the money to offer him anything near what he wants.
Basically, they would have to give up assets, and likely more than you mentioned just to have him for one year and then try and sign and trade him else where.

Got the Playoffs on Lock if they can get Vladimir
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AlTintin1122</b></div><div>theres def question marks but if Korpi gives them .910 like he did last year or Forsberg gives them an average of his last 2 years then they def have a chance. Chychrun should def help them on D</div></div>
It really does all ride on the goalies. I am really curious to see if there is a renewal of the chemistry and friendly competition between Korpy and Forsberg, they were a tandem together that won the Calder Cup on Columbus's AHL team one year together, and both played very well that season.
Forsbeg was regualr season 41 GM 2.40 GAA 0.914 SA% | PLAYOFFS 10GM 1.34GAA 0.949 SV%
if we get anywhere near that again then thy are in the playoffs.
But Full seasons of Norris, Chychrun & Greig added to the lineup is going to make a bigger difference than most people expect.

So I understand Hellebuyck going to the devils makes all the sense in the world for them to become a powerhouse in the east and take a few cup runs, but I think you forgot the salary cap exists and he wants to be the highest paid goalie in the NHL, even if he comes down and asks for an 8 per deal Devils can't come close to that they have to do MErcer and Schmid after this coming season and then Huges the season after that.
And i don't see them giving up a lot to only take one year run with him and then him walking in free agency.
