Run for Playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>batman</b></div><div>Probably not enough for Lindholm.
And Poitras scratched??</div></div>
Calgary has little leverage. Maybe he gets a bit more but I dont imagine much more. Poitras can rotate in if JVR cant keep up, but playoffs are a different animal and hes still only 19.

Lineup is spot on, just switch Lindholm and Gryz! I think scratches end up being Heinen and Zboril, with Boqvist, Mitchell, Greer and Brown getting sent through waivers. OR they may choose not to sign Heinen until Poitras' 9 games are up and re-asses BUT i dont think the Bruins would do that to a player.

Opening Night
I think the RFA deals (+/- 200k) and final roster are spot on (pray Bergy stays!). I think the lineups are a bit off tho. Boqvist is a 2/3LW, and Lauko will compete for a 4th line role against Greer/Brown/McLaughlin. I also think Geekie plays 3 RW w/ Coyle .

Oh a 2yr deal and Swayman will still be an RFA?!? All for it! Didn’t think this was the case. Freddy may be a bit more difficult to get a 1 yr but could be a possibility

Not much leverage. Dont have the $$ for a long term deal now, so getting them to UFA is inevitable... But every player on a bridge deal goes through this..dont see this as a big problem as they will figure it out when time comes

I think Sway and Freddy take 1M more on their each of their contracts, especially since they filed for arb now. Also think Bergy comes back for one more year

This was just done to sign Zadina, as he is still technically not a free agent yet and couldnt get him on the team any other way. But yes, you are correct...no retaining on Red Wings part

Yes, but tell me they didn’t think Mohanan had an upside which they could potentially leverage at the next TDL. A 6M cap hit does require a 1st to get rid of, not arguing that

I think that's how a lot of GMs think actually, especially one's who are in or very close to a rebuild (e.g., Dadonov, Monahan, Kulikov)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DefenseFirst</b></div><div>You’re both right….and wrong.
A team not having interest in a player doesn’t make him a cap dump necessarily.
That said, why would the preds have interest in smith? To them, it’s just a salary.
I think it will take a first to get jeannot.</div></div>
Fair enough. I think the preds could have interest for Smith... the Bruins could add retention (-1.5M), they can play him in the top 6 which will give them flexibility. If out of the playoffs, flip at TDL for a 4th, 3rd (or maybe a 2nd) or roll with him in the playoffs and the money comes off the books next year + picks/prospects

I wouldn't see why they wouldn't take those deals tbh. Again, the majority of the performance bonus for both will be easily attainable (15-20 games played), so they are almost ensured that money. We will see what happens!

I think this would address everything they need and more. Need 1: Someone who can play R1 with march and bergy. Need 2: 2C (IF possible). Need 3 (Left shot defenseman, preferable top 4). Extra: 3RD...Forbort/Reilly rotate depending on team and cliffy will serve as an extra for insurance

Boston's gotta staple at least a 4th to John Moore to dump him in that deal.</div></div>

I disagree, I think Foligno would be a great add for Coyle. And yea the Lucic move isn't necessary, but I think he'd love to be back in Boston and wake up the 4th line. Kuraly just isn't doing it anymore

look at the healthy scratches jesus christ..those are just potential options the Bruins could use in case of injury. Adding Saad does not mean we cant sign Krug. Bjork and Grezlyck would probably be around the 5-6 million mark for both which is Saad money. Then your back to square one
