<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>oliver_wahlstrom</b></div><div>HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHA. you think that Wahlstrom is comparable to Tolvanen? Wahlstrom had more points in less games and is over 2 years younger AND played significantly less minutes a night. Now if you are moving Tolvanen for another player who has not panned out then maybe like Zadina or something. Not Wahlstrom lmao. This isnt islander fan bias, its common sense</div></div>

Told you that you wouldn't like it. Just to clear up a couple inaccuracies in your post:

The age difference between the two is less than 14 months - not two full years.

Wahlstrom had one more point than Tolvanen, playing in one fewer game last season. In their careers, Tolvanen has two more points in four fewer games. Points wise, they're basically equal to date.

Tolvanen averaged 13:26 in TOI last season. Wahlstrom averaged 12:04. I wouldn't call an extra 82 seconds a night significantly more ice time.

While both have struggled to meet their offensive expectations to date, where Tolvanen has significantly outshone Wahlstrom is defensively and physically. That's the main reason NSH ultimately doesn't consider this (being weak on LW with comparatively more depth on RW is another). I was just looking for the closest comparable to Tolvanen on NYI for the sake of debate, and it's obviously Wahlstrom.

I'm sure NYI likely doesn't want to give up on Wahlstrom yet - especially without Trotz there to keep him in the doghouse for his defensive lapses. I remember how tough Trotz could be on some of NSH's young players like Forsberg, back in the day. But if you change your mind and are willing to let him go for a 3rd and Cole Smith, sure we'll take a flyer on him.
