Start collecting picks for stacked draft
I'm on board with the strategy. Hoping to tank one more year and get as many 1sts in 2020 as possible. But some of these trades aren't realistic

you can drop most of the players in that trade....

Kreider resigned + Howden is more than sufficient.

I think he can get us pick 16+ a good prospect (not an amazing one), but just to avoid being bombarded with comments saying that I’m delusional I decided not to say anything drastic.

What Do we do now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aastorino1993</b></div><div>The rangers will have a tough time getting panarin because of the logjam the just put themselves in with Trouba. Trouba will ask for 7.5 for at least 6 years, and they still need to sign Deangelo, buchnevich, Lemieux, and letteiri. that will take up about 5-6 million for those players, which leaves only 6 million to work with. They should hold out on Kreider for a rental, but get rid of namestnikov now. Kreider can be useful once he gets a full season with Mika and adds to his trade value. You aren't getting much for Vlad as he is now 26 with an AAV of 4 Mil. He is still young, but hasn't proved himself to be at least worthy of a top 9 role on other teams.</div></div>
This is a bad take from top to bottom. Rangers can fit him relatively easily. Trade Vesey and Strome for picks, Buyout smith, and bridge ADA, Buch and Lemiuex. Thats basically it. Belesky buried and Claesson as 7D. Having Kravtsov and Kakko make it simple.

Your two statements don't correlate. He only wanted the Rangers... but he might not sign with the Rangers? LOL, you're so full of **** your eyes are brown.

Yeah Chevy would really be interested in those two Detroit would offer him a by far better deal then this garbage. Trouba wont be heading to the NYR for what you're offering that's for sure. Florida beats that deal by offering Vincent Trocheck Detroit beats by offering AA++ Need to post a source or it's just merely speculation right now.</div></div>

Fans need to get off this delusional notion that he's signing for cheap. He wants big money and would get in in free agency. His own agent Kurt Overhardt said that Jacob could seek anywhere from $8 million to $9 million per over 7 or 8 seasons with any team.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>klondikebar</b></div><div>That Colorado trade seems to be proposed by a person with the IQ of a leafs fan</div></div>
That's harsh lol. The Avs need some.secondary scoring depth. Now is Kreider that guy? I don't think so. I would suspect they would be looking for someone younger who better fits (age wise here, say 25ish), the current core. Frankly I just don't see a fit with the Avs there.
Nashville maybe an intriguing fit (looking for more 2nd line offense, and they are here and now). Possibly Dallas with their window closing on the Seguin and Benn era? Just don't feel the Avs at all.

I'm not a fan of the excess trades, but I am intrigued by the Tarasenko one.
I highly doubt it happens, but it makes sense and you valued it pretty close to correct. Well done on throwing a decent idea out there.

Not going to lie, as a Blues fan I like this trade. I'd hate to give up Tarasenko but if Kreider agreed to sign an extension it's hard to pass up.

Why is everyone trading for hanafin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NYrags34st</b></div><div>I know he is good but why would Calgary move him I’m just saying all the armchair gm’s are trading for hanafin</div></div>
Calgary is not gonna move him
After the round 1 loss CGY fans lost their mind and have been blowing up their team in ACGMs basically throwing everyone under the bus for the loss accept Giordano and Tkachuk
So then other people start making trades for their players
It's like what happened with Huberdeau in FLA, he was mentioned as a possible trade chip for Panarin way back before the deadline,
all of the sudden 500 ACGMs popped up with Huberdeau trades to every team
Hanafin is not gonna be moved, but its nice to dream about you're team getting a guy like that on a sweet contract
Go look at every TOR ACGm trying to trade for Pesce out of CAR, nice to dream, it's just not gonna happen though

I like eliteprospect, and various fanside/sb nation team sites to see what their writers say (they're in no way experts but they are paid to put in a lot of research and some know people in the organization). They usually have prospect rankings a couple times a year of at least the top 10-- I generally look outside their top 3 for guys a couple yrs away (which is who usually go in these trades). And teams almost never trade 1st round picks in short term cap dumps.
And pick value- cap dumps north of 5 mil from good teams usually have a prospect with potential going the other way, with next to nothing going there. Marleau's and Cally's dump are overpayments (by the rangers). For Marleau, considering he'd almost definitely need to be bought out for him to approve the trade, that'd probably cost more

No idea why the Flames would trade him at this point. They traded Hamilton because they didn’t think he was a fit with the group they have, Hanifin has been a good fit so I can’t see them giving up on him yet

It’s good trade, but Buchnievich is kinda a deal breaker for me. I understand that he is necessary to make it work, but I really would want to give him up, especially now that he’s started doing really well.

Putting the pieces together for 20-21 cup run
Pionk is not worth as much as you think he is. Him and a second won’t get it done for Trouba; it won’t even come close.
McAvoy is NOT being traded by Boston. End of discussion.
Shattenkirk’s value decreased immensely after multiple seasons where he did not live up to his contract. A good prospect in Bellows and a 1st Rounder won’t be given for him. NYR would be lucky to get a 2nd for him right now. Also, we are not trading with the Islanders, they are rivals.
If you did get Trouba and McAvoy they would most likely want more money. DeAngelo will be looking for 4.5-5 million. Also, Panarin will want the longest deal possible (7 years not 6).
I mean this in the nicest way possible: this is horrible.
