Yeah, and they may like Holtz, but they’ll need a goalie and probably don’t want to retain for the next three years. Primeau is a solid prospect, and calgary has the resources to turn him into a good NHL player

What I would do in the offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jets1pt0</b></div><div>Edmonton does not give up Holloway to swap a year of back up Mike Smith for back up Allen.
And Arizona is definately not trading the Habs a pick to relieve Montreal of the Weber contract. That idea is laughable.</div></div>
The Weber thing is interesting. Right now, Weber is on LTIR so his contract does nothing on the habs. Arizona is going to have a hard time getting up to the cap floor next year. The reason Weber fits here is as follows: he is only getting paid 6 million over the next four years for an AAV of 7.8M per year. This means that if he is on the roster, he brings up the cap by 7.8M, but Arizona only has to pay 1.5M on average to get that. Secondly, because Weber is injured and will not be returning to the NHL, if the Coyotes ever needed the cap space that he has, they could simply place him on LTIR

He is, but couple Allen with another goaltender and you now have a solid back end. Mike Smith, realistically, is done. Allen is 9 years younger than smith, providing a solid backbone to the team.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jwg314</b></div><div>Petry isn't a negative asset. That's insane. Also, you're way overvaluing Allen.</div></div>
I dont know, I think the habs have to give up assets to get rid of the cap hit. Also, on the Allen side, he has proved to be a very good goaltender in the NHL and there would be a few teams competing to aquire him. I listed this as the return because I don’t think he gets traded for less. If that offer or better is not on the table, we are very happy to keep him

Only thing with that is that is you lose Harris and ylonen

Hes 28 yrs old and has been with 5 clubs and played 218 over 5 NHL seasons, he is what he is: a good scoring AHLer, being paid too much</div></div>
That’s fair. There is room for his cap in the nhl, so it doesn’t have to go through for this to work

With Chairot coming back, I feel really good about our D, especially for the playoffs. The only issue I have with dunn and Butcher is their size: butcher is 180 and dunn is 200. Savard is 230, which is really important in the playoffs especially on d. With eddy, chairot and romi on the left, we have some biggg defenceman for teams to deal with. Plus, savard being slow doesn’t really hurt because he would play with romi who can skate.

Nice job.
BUT!!!! Weal doesn't get a 5th anywhere. Nit picky I know, but Weal probably cost MTL a 5th or 6th for somebody to take him.</div></div>
He’s been playing well in the AHL and we don’t have room for him. At the very least, it makes any team a little deeper and only costs them 325,000 to take him, if he doesn’t play. That can add some stability to a roster, so i think they receive a pick for him. I would go down to a 6th or 7th if necessary.

Expansion- makes sense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DBakes88</b></div><div>Good luck getting Danualt too sign for 4 when he rejected a 5x6 before the season</div></div>
I think Danualt put a lot of trust in his own game, and thought he’d be worth more. Seeing KK develop this year, and the big minutes suzuki put up leads me to believe that he’s not worth as much. Plus, factor in low production for the season and a salary cap that isn’t going anywhere, and you have a player who’s getting 4 for his next deal. Max I’d do is 4.25 like toffoli
