(CGY/VAN) - Lindholm for Kuzmenko, Brzustewicz, Jurmo, 2024 1st (VAN), 2024 4th (VAN)
Btw, this also means Vancouver stole Calgary's All-Star. The Flames will be the only team without a rep in the game.

(CGY/VAN) - Lindholm for Kuzmenko, Brzustewicz, Jurmo, 2024 1st (VAN), 2024 4th (VAN)
I think this is a fair trade, love this for Van and hope they can persuade Petey, Hronek & Lindholm to take slightly less to stick together. I’ve heard rumours Lindholm wanted 8 x 8.5 but there’s no way he’s worth more than Miller who has been a PPG player for about 5 years… Dodging Kuzmenko’s 5.5 cap hit next year is a real win based on current form and his fit with Tocchet.
I thought 1st + Kuzmenko + Brzustewicz was a fair offer, not fussed about the divisional tax of Jurmo + a 4th.

Vancouver Canucks signed J.T. Miller (7 Years / $8,000,000 AAV)
I can't believe there are so many people voting no. He's been Vancouver's best player since his arrival and they are likely a playoff team this season. This is a steal.

A 70-80 pt player would make someone a top scorer on about half the teams in the league. And costs about 8-9 mil in today's Ufa environment

still room for Horvat, Pettersson extension due when Myers is off the books, so extra money there, and the cap going up that year too makes it easy to re-sign EP40

That's a lot less than I expected.
Also kinda shocking to see people say this contract sucks. Seems kinda low to me. Obviously like most Ufa long deals it will age badly at the end. But he's not that old and he's a ppg player. This seems pretty good to fair.

I was hoping he would return to Van on this kind of minimum deal for 1 year. steal for LA.

Adding onto this point: if this contract was signed with the intention of him not playing out the full six years (ie going on LITR and becoming a trading asset), that sounds a lot like cap circumvention.

Definitely worth more than a 4th rounder. However, his value is in his intangibles and you can't really bargain with that.

Way too much for a player with only 55 games under his belt. Furthermore, it takes him to UFA status, so the Wild have no leverage to keep him after this.

I get he had a great season but wow... 5years and 9 Million for less than 1 PPG season? That's pretty awful IMO

(ARI/VAN) - Ekman-Larsson, Garland for Beagle, Eriksson, Roussel, 1st, 2nd, 7th
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kotkaniemi15</b></div><div>Umm, it might save Benning’s job, but it also set the Canucks back half a decade in terms of being able to ice a contending lineup.</div></div>
This is how I see things:
1. Garland for 9th overall, straight up.
Some of us, (myself included), had Sam Reinhart traded for 9th overall straight up.
I might get a lot of heat for this but I think it's a somewhat fair comparable.
2. OEL with retention for everything else
Eriksson, Beagle, Roussel are all cap dumps.
The only thing that Arizona got in value from the OEL part of the trade is a 2nd round pick that can't be used until next year.
3. OEL can still be a Top 4 defenceman on some NHL teams.
If Sweden were to compete internationally, he would likely make the team.
4. Much of the voting in favour of Arizona is because everybody hates Jim Benning, except for the Aquilinis.
That's fine.
I think he did reasonably well here.

Well he did score at roughly 0.5 p/gp, while being a defensively responsible 3C. I think Nick Bonino isn't a far-off comparable if he keeps it up and I'd call it fair.

(LAK/NSH) - 2x draft picks for Arvidsson
Big Arvidsson fan, and hes on a great contract..... but to think hes worth more than a 2nd is insane.
I dont think many people have watched him last few years. Lost a significant amount of speed and has been piling up the injuries. Play of the rush was his strength in 2018, an area of his play we haven't seen in years
