Fixing Cap

No offense. It was definitely a justified thought and in the realm of possibilities. I just don't think it'll happen

All good man that's what the site is for. Of all our defense I think Leddy is most likely to be traded. He would return a quality top-6F as well. We have a lot of depth at the position

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>Detroit fan here. Why is Mayfield valuable?</div></div>
Our most improved d-man on a steal of a contract. He lead our defense in points at one point this season. Mayfield regularly forces zone entries to the outside with ease and clears guys out from in front of the net almost every shift. Offensively average but must be learning from Boychuk because Mayfield has been shooting the puck on net from almost anywhere from the point. He's very valuable in Trotz system
Mayfield is definitely worth top-6 forward IMO

I know you're a Devils fan but I don't think you realize how valuable Scotty Mayfield has been. He is worth way more than a 4th round pick - I'm hoping you forgot to add an asset or something.

Fixing Cap Issues
Massive overpay on Copp's contract, especially for 2 years. Same for Brossoit. Brossoit will be a UFA after 1 season so the Jets can sign him to a 1 year contract for around 1 million and then promote Comrie for the 2020/21 season. Copp shouldn't get over 2 million for a 2 year deal.
Nothing wrong with the Trouba contract but he won't sign that unfortunately, Trouba will either sign a 1 year deal than walk as a UFA or he'll sign an 8 year deal, he's not interested in anything else. He wants to cash in big on his mid-20s contract.
If Chevy trades Lowry I will personally burn Bell-MTS down to the ground. I would genuinely rather keep Lowry than re-sign Hayes. No question Hayes is the better player, but Lowry is the perfect 3rd line shutdown centre.
Seth Griffith isn't NHL-ready yet, and Marko Dano isn't quite up to being an NHL player. See the fact that he was waived, barely played in Colorado, and when waived again WPG was the only team to make a claim so they could reassign him to the AHL. Logan Shaw would be a good choice as a 13th F so that's a good call.
Joe Morrow making less than he is currently doesn't make sense especially as he played more and better than last year! Gonna cost 1.1 million minimum for a 1 year deal.

I think he would go to a contender (one with cash to spend)) for upwards of $8M-$9M if it were for 7 years (8 years for Columbus).</div></div>
Yeah NJ isn't getting Duchene for that price.
Also why did you pay Zacha and Carrick so much?

The more I look at this the more I like it!

Is Cole on the outs in Col? Its actually a good move to ensure we don't overplay Smith coming in.
Like the other moves as well. Its a start, we have to move to getting a couple #1-ish D men though

I'd love that MoJo trade.
I don't think Kinkaid's worth two picks at this point. He's definitely a backup and worth maybe a 6th rounder IMO?

Fair Isles trade, I've posted something similar in the past. MoJo played his best two seasons under Trotz so I'd be interested to see if that could happen again. Needs to stay healthy though
