If you are overpaid or your team need to move cap out, you have to pay !
Look at Oliver Bjorkstrand, he is a young top 6 RW and CBJ only got a 3rd and 4th for him
Armia had an horrid season and MTL need to move cap, it would cost a 2nd + a former 2nd round pick player to move Armia
Something like Armia + COL 2nd RD pick + one of Oliver Kapanen or Jayden Struble</div></div>
Ya thats wild.
Bjorkstrand seemed to be everyone saying to CBJ that you dont just pick up a free agent of that caliber for free. The new team was the only one willing to help them out in a sense. Though i love seeing the gms force teams to actually give up good players to shed cap instead.

I don't really see Armia as a useless hockey player. Not the best contract at them moment for sure.

Why not know you have $4Mill in cap instead of possibly having or not having that cap. Having the space keeps you open to more opportunities.

ya real tight up against the cap. Its not something I'm saying the Devils HAVE to do. Just dont see why they would keep him. Not really giving up much, just a chance for him to get playing again. If ya really like tyce thompson im sure zona may even just take a late pick.

Oh 100% not maximizing Severson's value. I dont know how to value the prospects in Toronto anymore so i don't usually put them in trades. trading Muzzin is kinda unnecessary if they can shed Kerfoot completely. Just not sure they want to trade another 1st rounder.

Its underwhelming for sure, but Muzzin does fill the defensive roll for them for a couple years. then the cap space is pretty big at that time for the Devils. Its only a rental lol. Thought Leafs could find a way to sign him.

I heard he wants him part of the plans moving forward, and looking at the blues side, if they make a trade for chucky they are really gunna need neighbours this upcoming year. Also heard Calgary won’t trade chucky to stl if they don’t get neighbours back

It would be a huge disservice to trade him.</div></div>
It’s not crazy far off for sure, wheeler helps them stay at the floor and can fill the Okposo veteran hole. I don’t see Buff sending Okposo out like this as he really found himself a spot on this team this year. But hey wheeler is most likely going to bring a bit more than Okposo, but really not that worth it in the end.

Winnipeg adds a good prospect or pick to their side to make it even.
-No one to fill Mayfield's RD3 slot and the left side is more or less set with Pelech-Romanov-Salo. Personally, I wouldn't -hate- adding another LD and letting Salo develop a little more, but not at the cost of Mayfield - there's no one in the org besides Grant Hutton who can fill that RD3 (and I like Hutton but not that much.)
-Kyle's a fan favorite in Buffalo and part of the team leadership there, I don't think the Sabres want to mess with the chemistry they've built with such a young team.</div></div>
Ya having trouble finding trades for teams to shed cap. NYI- Dillon can probably bring a bit more all around play and pick up like Anton stralman for cheap. But a wierd one.
It’s dope Okposo has become that, I was an Okposo believer at the start of the year, really thought there was no way he has another super rough year. Hope he keeps this going

Indeed reaching, but just one thought towards a very complex decision with alot of factors. It always makes more sense to go to a playoff team. Looks like tampa may be looking to just unload McDonagh's whole contract.

Seattle actually has quite a veteran roster; they need/want younger players, both for the roster and their development system. They also have a log-jam with LHD, of sorts, with Oleksiak, Dunn, Fleury, Cholowski, AND Soucy. I don't think it's a great fit, personally.</div></div>
Ya welcome to the NHL, having a surplus of LHD. Fluery and Soucy can play on the right side. Swaping Soucy for McDonagh is someone Fleury could play with, even Dunn. Being able to play with a guy like that would be tremendous for the couple young dudes they have.

Really successful in Tampa, could be returning the favor and going somewhere that will offer a real return, in draft picks at least. He can always ask for another trade in a year or two to a contender if it goes ****ty. Can always find a positive lol

You are right they really have no reason to dump someone unless they really really want gustavson and forsberg combo for some unknown reason. I'd maybe pay a fourth for him on second thought. If OTT signs giroux and trades for a D man it would tighten up the cap a bit.
