Sure they could take him in a deal, but certainly not the one you pitched.

A Wild Move
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Gardoki</b></div><div>Remember that Guerin accepted a trade for Johnson last season, so I wouldn't jump to all those conclusions. Kessel saying no is the the only reason JJ wasn't wearing a Wild sweater this past year. Also, jJust because he preferred Jarry doesn't mean he wouldn't want Murray. Simon has played mainly RW. He's a great plug, but it sounds like the Pens are going to part ways to make room for some of the younger players.</div></div>
Wrong GM, that was Fenton's move and thank god for Kessel am i right? Saved the Wild from two trash contracts and Guerin already got a 100% better deal for Zucker instead of the one originally from the flames that didn't make it on time on the TDL.

A Wild Move
Hard pass doesn't help the Wild at all.
1) Wild don't need LWs
2) JJ is trash
3) Murray is going to want more money than the Wild are comfortable with plus the Wild are planning on protecting Kahk during the ED so taking on anyone that isn't a 1 year deal is a bad idea.
4) if the Wild are taking JJ they are not giving up 2nd. Remember Bjugstad got 50% retained and got a conditional 7th? The Pens would need to pay the Wild to take JJ
5) Lastly, it was known that Guerin was making a play for Jarry when he asked about goaltenders during the Zucker trade. Guerin knows exactly who Murray is. I would bet the Minnesota pitt deals are done for the time being.

champs need more cap room
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pete</b></div><div>why? he's still +/- 40 points player, right-handed, can play a center - is this not all Minni has been missing?</div></div>
he is on the wrong side of 30 with a cap hit of 5 mil for 4 more years. He may be able to produce for 1-2 more season but it is a safe bet to guess he will drop off.
Plus I don't think he is really good enough to be much more than a low end 2C. Right now the Wild have made up their mind that Johannson will be the 2C. The Wild are set on bottom 6 centers so If TJ moves to that role in a season or 2 it just causes more issues than fixes for the future.
Better bet would be finding a team that is about to contend looking for a high end 3C. However with the full NTC it may be an issue to get him to leave a cup contender.

Lightning need to add a sweetener to get rid of what is essentially a cap dump to Minnesota.

I don't mind trading for futures with Dumba, but there needs to be a center prospect and something more coming back for that.

I think Minnesota is in a similar boat. I think they would rather keep Greenway because he has the tools to be very good if he figures it out.

Can a Nucks trade work
Detroit: I think the Trade is fair, but I doubt Detroit wants Dubnyk.
Sharks: SJ says no, that is an overpay for Donato.
Van: Honestly I think Demko's value is a bit overstated from his playoff appearances. I don't hate this trade though. I could see Minnesota saying both yes and no to this deal. Same with the Canucks.
Tampa: Bolts say no, Overpayment again.
Overall, I think Center depth is still a big weakness. Plus goaltenders are a massive ? mark. Vibing for that Big buff signing though even though i think it is slim to not happening.

Rask for MAF
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MGK</b></div><div>I don't think so. No one is adding a sweetener to take buyout candidate 14th forward Rask.</div></div>
Rask has two years left. The Wild could very much hang on to him for two years. He is 75% cheaper than 35 year old goalie. MAF is a worst contract. How about Vegas just buyout MAF?
I wouldn’t even make the trade 1 for 1. The Wild can get a better and cheaper goalie during free agency.

I always wonder if the true story will come out to what happened. Wild fans were told by our beat writers that the Wild got their paper work in but Calgary didn’t in time.
I heard the Flames say the same thing but the other way with the flames being on time but Wild not.
I heard national media say that paper was sent in but the NHL office said they both Late by a minute.
I like to think some lowly peon in the Wild FO took one for the team and covertly sabotaged the paper work to prevent the trade.

Yeah you are going to have to add a Sweetener for the Wild to take MAF. Rask is actually cheaper. Wild could get a serviceable goalie during UFA that will cost a lot less.

The Wild don’t need wings. If you give Minn Kerfoot they will take a 1st with him.

unpopular opinion but Parise is really misleading when it comes to scoring. He was 6th in ES scoring on the Wild with averaging one of the highest TOI on the team. Most of his points are coming from the PP.
If the Wild were smart he should be a 4th line PP specialist. His ES defense is worse than what his ES offense brings. There should be no reason we want to match him against other team's top lines. I love his attitude and hustle he brings, but I worry that each year he gets top ice time he will drag down his line more and more. Not his fault, he is just getting old.

On top of that I'm pretty sure Aberg is going to the europe. The maple leafs moved him for cap reasons he isn't an NHL player. This trade is horrendous since the Wild give a 2nd for a 20 point forward.

Massive Retool and Youth
I’m probably in the minority of Wild fans that would take this deal. I’m pretty high on McCann and I also think Foligno is a player that you need to sell high on since his skill set tends to regress quickly. Truthfully I would see if we can move back the Wild pick to the 4th round or move Pitts up one, but that isn’t a hill I’d die on.
