I agree with everything except the last 5 words, if they got him for a non 1st rd pick I would probably be ok with that. They have been linked to him in the past.

So MTL gets a first for a guy that’s a cap dump he plays 25 games and now has missed 25 games what world is it that that guy is worth a 1st? Hint the answer is none.

So basically, the Avs before this trade had one hole in their line-up when healthy at 2c that really could use an up grade. Then you take both our current 2nd C and our 3rd C and give us an amazing top six 6 winger. But wait.. we have 4 of them already... Landy, Rants, Nuke, and Lehky. TM is not going to replace the first 3 on that list, but is a step up on number 4, so 62 goes to the 3rd line on wing. So what are we going to do about the three holes you created (2/3Cs and a top 4 Dman in BB)? This makes us WAAYYYY better. Sign me up. That doesn't even start with how are the avs going to sign him next year with that QO? They would have to give up another roster player next year to do it. In the end, losing 4 roster players for a 0.12 % increase in P/pg as a 2nd line W. Not great asset management. The point of the TDL for teams that are contenders is to get BETTER and INCREASE the chance of raising the cup, not sell out their depth.

While I would Argue Timo would be your 2/3rd best winger 3/4 best forward. (and my arguement would fall on the fact he is one of the best in the leauge at creating his own high danger scoring chances and the metrics back this up, meaning playing with the top 6 plus the skilled D you have could mean a jump to 40+ goal production for him especially considering he is on a 40 goal pace for the much weaker offensivly sharks) i would still agree with your assessment that this doesn’t fit a need on your team and while the sharks could use a guy like Byram I would hope the return for him would be more like a 23 1st and a potential top 4 D or top 6 F under 22. the two adds do nothing but move cap and don’t help sharks long term.
Just feel like there is a chance we could get more from him or sharks should push to sign him long term as players like Meier are hard to come by. and while i like the potential of Lundell Bobby is a tough contract to take on when we are giving up a Norris caliber D for him. plus the sharks a Deep at LW/ LHS forwards and are more in need of a top R RW/RHS.

I think the Avs take that and run as much as I'm not in favour of trading Behrens. The Blues could certainly get more I believe.

Flames interested in Josh Anderson
Look, as a plea to all Montreal fans with their prospective Josh Anderson trades, at least look at a team's future cap if you're going to try and dump Anderson on them.
Calgary literally cannot do this. They gave out about $9.1M in raises to Jonathan Huberdeau, Mackenzie Weegar, and Dan Vladar with the idea that Lucic's $5.25M is expiring this year. There's no way they can fit the 3 additional years of Josh Anderson onto their cap without dumping a guy they currently have.
Not only is Josh Anderson definitively not worth a top prospect like Coronato *AND* a 1st, he's certainly not worth putting yourself into a cap predicament for. He's a middle-6 guy - would you add a middle-6 guy to Montreal that would require you to dump someone else's contract to get under the cap?

Yeah, I think the animosity towards Perron by Kadri, along with most of us Avs fans still liking Kadri as he left on good terms, means that this feeling will translate to the locker room. So no, we shouldn't get Perron. Not to mention he'd probably get booed on the ice whenever he touches the puck.</div></div>
Cant remember a specific chelios vs wings incident but im sure hes done worse and took many more shots . Kadri isnt there now though haha. Think it would change once hed be on the team. But i understand the feeling you have

Probable Opening Night Roster
Avs say no. Maybe a 24 1st, but for Rico I think there would have to be more coming back. Avs prospect pool is too depleted to spend a deep draft 1st on a 33-34 year old. He isn't a rental but I don't think Rico is worth a 1st. What value do you place on the retention?
Also if you're going to sign Myers and Mayfield, can we pleeeaase have Helleson back? lol

Everyone gets a reputation on a forum (like CF) and regardless of the intent on your next post, you carry the reputation from recent engagements onto the next one, but in a silo, I don't take his post as malicious here.

Don't want to pay that price for Edmundson (injury prone too) and LD is NOT even a NEED
Ever heard of Thomas Chabot and Jake Sanderson? Heck, Erik Brannstrom is looking quite good too
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ht42</b></div><div>That's 100% a fair value for a 2C who produce somes pts and who won's faceoffs.</div></div>
The difference between Monahan and Compher is not a 1st and a 3rd. Not even close
Also, you have to pay or retain to dump Anderson's contract. Foegele is not enough term+cap to offset Anderson's overpayment

TDL - Would you do it
CHI declines. I'd be interested in Carlo if we didn't already have Jones, Murphy, Mitchell, and Regula on the payroll. Smith is a cap dump and Fredric is another bottom 6 forward to throw on the pile. So, essentially, this trade is for Carlo (who is good but plays a position we don't really have a need for and whose M-NTC kicks in next season) and a late 1st round pick. I'm sure CHI could, at the very least, get a package for Kane that makes more sense for them if/when it comes down to it.
Plus, I don't see BOS being interested in Kane. They have enough offense as it is. I'm not really sure BOS has many needs. I think if they are going to bolster the roster at the TDL, it will be for depth.

I like Boone Jenner. I think it’d be very interesting to see what he looks like in smaller minutes. CBJ has him playing 20 minutes a night, which is probably too much for a guy like him.
Agreed that Compher to Anaheim doesn’t make sense.
