I don't see a fit for either team to be honest. Zegras doesn't really fit what Boston wants in its centers and what Boston has to offer, Anaheim already has enough of.

A future late 1st a RHD that is about the same as a couple we already have and Lysell just doesn’t feel like a reason to trade away Zegras</div></div>
Lohrei is a LHD

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rob32sjsharks</b></div><div>Then why do we take him on?</div></div>
No idea, I didn't propose the offer. The best path would be to flip him to a contender looking to improve their PK. Seeing as SJ has a retention slot, they could retain some for the last few months of the season and improve their return. With no retention I'd think he can get a 4th. If SJ wanted to retain then they could get a 3rd for him.

Here's what Swayman said back in August when asked about it:
<em>“Now I’m here today and I am a Boston Bruin — I couldn’t be happier. <strong>There’s no ill will on the process, because I understand that.</strong> I’m not the first player to go through it. I’m not the last. But I definitely don’t wish it upon any of my friends and teammates moving forward and I don’t want to do it ever again as well. So grateful I went through it. Glad I got it done. I’m a Boston Bruin at the end of the day.”</em>
Swayman has gone on repeatedly to say how much he wants to stay with Boston past this season.

Unless they plan to use that spot to be a middle man for a deal, I don't think it being their last slot matter. That retention would only be for the rest of this season and then the spot freed up again for next year.

Hanifin Deal With Secondary Prospects
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Flames1217</b></div><div>Lindholm got traded for a top prospect (recent first), Moore (dump), a first and two seconds.
The equivalent to this deal would be : Lohrei/Lysell + Forgot/Gyrz, 1st + 2 2nds.
Your trade doesn't have that value.</div></div>
Vaak at the time of trade was not as valuable as Lohrei/Lysell. He was 23yr old, has already gotten a significant concussion. He was a pending RFA that was struggling to get time in Boston's line-up and didn't have a future with the team.

So the Bruins are going take in two players who don't even equal the production of the guy their trading away?

Continuing the Sale Process
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MyTeamsSuck</b></div><div>Not really, Bruz is a better prospect than Lohrei imo, and has the higher upside, then you add a late first (similar to Vancouvers) and a C-B prospect. Not nearly as high of a return as the Lindy trade.</div></div>
I think you misunderstood my post. You're saying that the comp to acquire Hanfin (a left-handed dmen) is the same as the cost to acquire Lindholm (a centerman). The reality is that centers go for a premium, especially 1st line centers. If CGY can get the same deal for Hanifin that they got for Lindholm then they 100% are taking someone to the cleaners.
As for the rest of your post. Lohrei was top 10 in NCAA scoring among d-men last season and played all-situations. He played between the AHL (nearly a PGP player) & NHL this season. He's a 6'4 smooth skating d-man that's a converted forward, but still decent defensively. Both guys are projected to be top 4 d-men if they hit their ceiling.

Over the last 3 years Lindholm among center ranks....
Goals - 24th
Assist - 29th
Points - 28th
FO% - 24th
No one said anything about him being a P/GP center. His production the last 3 years is similar to Mark Scheifele. Scheifele just signed a 7yr/$8.5 million deal. Kadri is another guy who is numbers are similar to and Kadri last year signed a 7yr/$7 million deal. To say Lindholm is only worth $6.5 million on a 5yr deal with the cap increasing significantly next year is just odd.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MyTeamsSuck</b></div><div>Hanifin is worth more than that. Look at the Lindy trade and lower the price by a fourth round pick. Lohrei a first and another prospect would get it done. If Lohrei is too much, replace him with Beecher and a third.</div></div>
So the comp for trading Hanifin (LHD) is what Lindholm (Center) got?

I don't even think they really got "pushed around" last night. At least not due to grit. The boys simply were playing like it was a pre-season game and didn't put in much effort.

His game is the same as it was when he was with Boston. He's a 13th forward type of player that can fill in for short periods of time if an injury occurs. He's not an NHL regular.
