Personally, i think ristolainen contract is better, I also think he is a better player. That was my reasoning behind the pick

Both Players they are taking are on 1 year deals, so they can either flip them for picks or use them (because they are both decent players) and decide at end of year if they want to keep them. At least that was my thinking behind this trade.

They are good for bottom 6 players who you can get on the cheap. They need depth. So I see these as good potential signings

Add Mcleod, but I dont think anything more than that is fair. He is an unproved player in the NHL. Shipachyov (probs spelled wrong) is a good example of hyped players from the KHL who come over and dont perform. a 3rd rounder and decent d is a decent return for an unproven player. Who knows his actual value yet though...

Fair, I do agree. I do think he is a bottom 2 pairing guy, but a good tough shut-down guy. But those guys are starting to get paid as u said(Pateryn, johns, oleksiak) are all making in the 2-21/2 range.

Might be able to get rid of Zajac, and would definitley be able to get rid of Palmieri cause they will both have 1 year left. So it might not need to be a choice! The only thing is now Hall will be expecting to get PAID PAID lol

Agreed, The have 3 very similar players in stone, tuch and Pacioretty. Honestly if I was them i would be looking to move Pacioretty cause tif it hasnt already, that contract will start to look like an overpay in 2 years.

Big Power Forward, Boston style hockey! He would be a great fit on that line! they would have to give-up something crazy t get a player like that with a contract like that.

Murrya and Kadri are definitely very close in value, Murray does have age on his side, but I think Kadri has proved himself as a good quality center capable of being second line. But i definitely see why the value of each could be higher than one another, but hey in one for one trades someone always gets the better deal lol (hall for larsson)

I know Miller is definitely a perosn VGK fans want out, but for a defense who can produce points he doesnt have a terrible contract and term on it. He is still relatively young and valuable. As for reaves I was looking at possible trades for him because I agree, eakin is way more valuable than him but it comes down to who needs that type of player anymore. I looked at nashville cause they love their tough guys (mcleod, watson) but they still have watson and could use their capspace otherwise. he only has a year left so i thought he is a good playoff player and team guy. Eakin still has value and with one year left might aswell cash in.

I was looking at that as a possibikity, but they have a lot of high contracts (skinner, scandella, bogosian okposo, eichel) and they need cap to be able to resign young players. He also has a NTC so he would probs want to go to a contender, Carolina my be able to repeat their success.
