Agreed - would hate to see Oshie go, but this gives more flexibility in the long run, especially with all of his injuries the last few years.

Oshie
a) not sure Boyle offers anything to bolster the 4th line.
b) Vrana has grown comfy on the left, let him develop on the left.
c) not Oshie...no.
d) still not Oshie. He's a heart and soul guy on a team that did not have a ton of that when he arrived. You can take Eller and groom Gersich at C...but not Oshie.

I love Oshie but I'd do that deal so fast for the Caps.

Whos being traded
i think it's Paciorety who's gonna be traded insted of Smith, more cap relief and you won't have to do other trade to fit Carlson in and be under the cap the first day before putting him on LTIR.

Rather use that on getting more defensive help.

That's the first Ek trade I've seen yet that I would approve of... However, it's not realistic. It would take a lot more to get Kupari!

you could also offer sheet plays up to a 2nd and a 3rd round level as well... just throwing that out there. really utilize that offer sheet.

As a Habs fan, I wanna say good luck getting back Williams! You guys paid 21 MILLION in bonuses to keep Aho, so the team is literally BROKE unless a pretty big contract is moved

I still like my earlier deal for VGK side
Butcher for Gusev/Schuldt (plus swap of picks).
But if VGK agrees to Carrick/3rd, NJD should jump all over that.

Agreed, and that's exactly why I don't think Pacioretty will be moved. Unfortunately for Vegas, they wont be part of the expansion draft so they cant even give Seattle an incentive to take him at this point.

They would, but they're also loaded with prospects. I think the only "untouchable" is probably Vaakanainen since they're fairly thin on potential game changing defensemen. But given the return for Mark Stone, I dont think it's as exuberant as people think. Heinen, Lauzon and a 2nd gets the convo going in a good direction.
