Because we'd be over the salary cap. When the playoffs start you obviously slot him in over Brodzinski.

What if the Rangers added a conditional 3rd that turns into a 2nd if they make it to the conference finals?

He played center from the time he started playing hockey until he joined the NHL at 19 years of age. He's not what you would call a "Natural Winger" per se. And not to mention the fact that in Gallant's system pretty much anyone can play center.

With Landy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Meeqs</b></div><div>Col has a back up and they aren't giving up a 1st rounder for a goalie who wasn't even a good backup last year.
Landeskog isn't a center and putting him there is hilariously dumb, he will also cost a lot more. Just get Eichel at that point
Because Col always has players take the FO on their strong side, he never actually plays any center</div></div>
If Landeskog never played center in his entire career, then yeah, it'd be a hilariously dumb move. But as I said, he played center his entire career until he joined the NHL. And I think given his style of play and that he's good at faceoffs, that he'd work out fine as a center.
The Georgiev trade is just a dream scenario, really. From what I've read, Drury wants a 1st round pick in return. While I don't think that's gonna happen, you never really know.

Contender question mark
Love each and every single one of those trade proposals!
My only real concerns would be:
1. Is Chytil good enough to be a 3C? Or is he better suited on the wing? I wouldn't mind signing a guy like Nick Bonino.
2. Is demolishing KZB altogether and playing Kreider on the 3rd line a good idea, especially with his contract?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Imback123</b></div><div>Tyler yes .. Killorn no .. Gourde contract too much and too long for 3rd liner</div></div>
Gourde is on a full NTC though. Palat, Johnson, Cirelli and Killorn are the only forwards without full NTC/NMC. Johnson to Seattle is obviously a no-brainer, and I'd probably go with Palat over Killorn. So Killorn is the odd man out.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vikhodush</b></div><div>I wouldn’t classify this as a rebuild. You’re not losing any core pieces or bringing on any core pieces.</div></div>
Yeah that's why I said "Mini Rebuild". I'd definitely consider Killorn to be a big core piece. They're also losing lifetime Lightning Tyler Johnson, and 2 important pieces in Blake Coleman and Barclay Goodrow.

Fair point. I don't get the Howden/Blackwell disrespect though. Blackwell was amazing for us last season, and he's making league minimum. Howden still young, strong on the PK, but had an off-year offensively.

Oh, we go back to what we were then, a team with 1 good center and no depth down the middle. Yep thats gonna work our real well. Let go the heartbeat of the club, thats genius.</div></div>
Yeah, as I said, not a perfect Airmchair-GM. I signed Granlund mainly cuz I needed a 3rd line C after trading Chytil. Buffalo probably accepts without Chytil though, but didn't wanna disrespect Sabres fans.

Yea I can see ur perspective. They could just sign Hamilton, especially if he's willing to play on the left. OEL is on an apparant decline. Is it because of his team, himself, or a mix of both? Maybe some Arizona fan wants to chime in here, cuz I don't really get to watch him that often.

Yeah I realize I didn't put a lot of effort into the Georgiev & OEL trades. I just thought you needed a young potential starting goalie & a stud LHD.
The Eichel trade really comes down to how much you're willing to pay for a guaranteed young elite center - arguably top 5 in the NHL.
