I can't see ducks accepting that, also for that price I'd hope Walker comes with 50% retention

I think PHI could get at least 1st, 3rd, and a distressed asset (Like Broberg) for Laughts and Walker (with RET). So why would they take back Campbell for anything less than a great pick or a near-sure-fire prospect?
IMO Philly fans on this board want even more than that, but i'd argue that Campbell at least could have SOME value to philly... I also think the late firsts have less value this year due to all the scouting news about the back end of this years 1st round</div></div>
Yeah you definitely bring up some good points, I'm just going off what pagnotta said about Philly willing to take on contracts

It's going to take a 1st and a prospect to take that albatross of a contract back. And then Philly wants a 1st for each of Walker and Laughton. Maybe the hit would be less if EDM took Cal Peterson back. Is there any young roster player that Edmonton would part with in this deal?</div></div>
Probably not, both McLeod and Holloway imo are off limits

NSh also has Stastney and Del Gaizo who are NHL ready, and neither is waiver exempt anymore. Even without the UFAs coming back, NSH's options on the backend could look like this:
Josi-Fabbro
McDonagh-Lauzon
Stastney-Schenn
Del Gaizo-Livingstone
More than enough options for the bottom pair, and Ceci isn't really an upgrade to the top four. With cap space being a little tight next season (Duchene's buy out hit goes up to bring the dead cap space hit to over $11.8M), I'd rather not add Ceci's salary, when there are cheaper options in house.</div></div>
That's fair

Upgrades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AEcho</b></div><div>There are a couple for NSH that could come up and play over Schenn on the right side, most notably Livingstone who has been solid defensive in the games he played in NSH last season, and this season in the AHL. Other than him Matier is the next best bet, but Schenn likely plays over him simply because Matier needs some more time. Additionally, NSH has plenty of cap to sign an RD in the off-season if they really need too. Lastly, McD has played on the right side in a pinch for NSH before, so he could easily do that again and NSH has a wealth of LD's they could pick from to come up who all deserve time even now.</div></div>

Unless there is prospects that are able to play next season, presuming that carrier goes to edm, Nashville will be down to 3rd being fabbro, barrie, schenn and I would be shocked if barrie stayed in Nashville so now that is 2rd left and even though fabbro is rfa his contract does still expire this year. Also if there is prospects I'm unaware of please let me know.

Fair enough like I said I'm not really sure. And tbh I don't think anyone really knows because of how much uncertainty there is around him. Pits could trade him, keep him and extend him, or bet on themselves on making playoffs and possibly lose him for nothing.

Bourgault, Lavoie, Ceci and the firsts won't help the Flyers close the deal this season, or likely next season, either. That's a package to a cellar-dweller for some big-name veterans.</div></div>
There is also a good chance that Philly drops out of playoffs with Carter hart tied up in the 2018 scandal

Avoiding overages next season
Yes it does any cap space left at the end of the season covers overages so right now it would be 3.25m-2.8m=450k that would come off the cap space next year. Ik it can be confusing

They need to go all in
While the Andersson trade is fair flames wouldn't consider it due to the fact he has term left and is a very good defenceman, flames don't want to be helping the Oilers long term, a lindholm and or Tanev trade is reasonable because they both expire and Oilers most likely wouldn't extend either of them
