Montreal Canadiens signed Jake Allen (2 Years / $2,875,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dotz789</b></div><div>The part that doesn’t do it for me is he’s set to make 4.3M this upcoming season from his previous contract and then 2.8M for two more years. Not quite sure why MTL would want to keep him on the books for two extra years. I could see the re-signing for 1 but not 2 plus when you have other guys you’re trying to keep and sign. Having 13M+ tied up in two goalies isn’t great cap management. Seattle expansion draft is next summer ...</div></div>
I agree that having 13M+ in goalies is not ideal. But the problem is not with Allen's 2.8. With Price making 10.5M you are always going to have too much tied up in goalies. Unfortunately that is where Montreal find themselves.

Allen 289 regular season games in the NHL, GAA 2.46 Save % 0.913 lifetime.
Dell 107 regular season games in the NHL, GAA 2.71 Save % 0.909 lifetime.
Allen has played almost 3 times as many games and still has better numbers than Dell

No way MB moves him for anything less. Probably gets even more at the TDL if you really think you are going to loose him to UFA

Not so sure about the better team and closer to the cup. I personally thought that Montreal was the better team in their 6 game series in pretty much every game. But man do we need to address our lack of goal scoring.... it is the single biggest thing holding this team back. IMO

Center's have more value than a winger, especially one like Danault. That is why they are hard to trade for.

I honestly don't see him getting moved inside the division. He is a great 200 foot center, kills penalties. MTL will want a top six scoring winger and a b+ prospect and a 1st round pick.

Youth down the middle
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DucksFan55</b></div><div>I think Domi for Rakell is pretty close to fair value, maybe picks or expendable prospects could get thrown in. Lindholm should fetch more than a first and Kulak though. I'd say either add a mid-tier prospect (Juulsen or Fleury) or take out kulak and give up one of your better D prospects (assuming Romanov is untouchable so maybe one of Norlinder or Harris?). Went off the prospect rankings Pronman just put out so if the prospect tiers are way off blame him, I'm not super familiar with your system.</div></div>
I can understand a team in a re-build would want more picks or prospects vs a roster player like Kulak. I would be fine with Harris.

What kind of return do you think they would want for Lindholm. Also are you saying that Rakell is better player than Domi? Domi is a career 0.67 point per game player and Rakell is a 0.63 point per game player. They seem pretty equal to me, Domi is younger. Domi is a former 12th overall pick and Rakell was a former 30th overall.

round 1 of playoffs lines
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>blanche</b></div><div>I would like to think he would prefer playing second line minutes rather than 4th line center...he is unmotivated at the moment and is probably questioning why he is playing despite his health concerns. If Mtl decides to move him after season, they need to raise his stock. A good motivated Domi can be very beneficial for this run in the playoffs. What do you think about Kulak playing some minutes on the power play as a forward?</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>blanche</b></div><div>I am good with the proposed lines. I just want to see Domi playing a more significant role....he looks despondent on the ice.</div></div>
This despondent attitude you refer to, I call pouting! He has been doing it since he got moved to the wing earlier in the year. I agree totally that a motivated Domi would certainly help this team and raise his stock for when he is undoubtedly moved in the offseason. I would have liked to see him playing on the wing in a more significant role as well, but he didn't show the proper attitude at any point this season after being moved to the wing. KK getting sent down opened up a spot in the middle again for him but KK looks like the player we hoped he'd be when he was taken 3rd overall. Domi's only role on this team is on the wing and if he isn't prepared to move and give his all then we need to cut bait with him. Disappointing as that may be.
As for Kulak getting some time on the PP.... why not we are O For on the PP so we might as well try something different. We wont get through the next round if we cant get a few chipped in on the PP

round 1 of playoffs lines
The only line I see maybe changing is the fourth depending on who is healthy. Domi has done nothing so far to show he should move up in the line up. Besides he doesn't want to play on the wing and I sure as hell wouldn't put him in the middle over the top three of Danault, Suzuki or KK

Feedback Plz
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>buchiegang</b></div><div>Seems a little steep for a guy with a career high of 31 points...</div></div>
Lehkonen brings so much more than offense, he has been tasked with supporting our young centreman on the defensive side of the puck. He has never really been given an offensive role. A first seems like a lot, but no way Montreal trades him for less. Even then MB would be hesitant. Lehkonen is a key core player for this team, regardless of his offensive numbers.

I don't think Danault is available. I can see Montreal moving Domi and possible Chiarot. They would have to make another move somewhere to replace Chiarot.
Conners + 2022 1st. for Domi + Chiarot + 2021 2nd.

O-S your best Center and which team accept
Just my two cents worth, but I don't believe we need to OS a number one center, the development we have seen from Suzuki and the improvement we have seen from KK makes me think that they are our future 1C and 2C.... spending 10.5 + million on an OS will prevent us from signing our soon to be RFA's and UFA's.

What is the point of both the Petry deal and the Lehkonen deals....they are terrible for Montreal. Domi is worth more than that, maybe if you switch the 2020 2nd for Minny's 2020 1st.....maybe.

With Price making 10.5,signing any competent back up is going to make the overall goalie cost look bad. Greiss's contract only has one year left. We can afford it this year but the goalie cost are always going to look bad

Drouin usually worsens every line he plays on and Suzuki might be good defensively, but not enough to carry Drouin around.
They'll start it against Tor, but I'm almost certain that when the game ends, Drouin is down to either the 3rd or the 4th line.</div></div>
Depends if we get the beginning of the season Drouin or the end of season Drouin but he is certainly a wild card at best. Apparently that line has looked really good at mini camp but I agree they will have a short leash!

Certainly some questionable moves here.....
Personally I would have the lines as follows:
Tatar Danault Gallagher
Drouin Suzuki Armia
Domi KK Byron
Lehkenon Weal Weise
Chairot Weber
Kulak Petry
Mete One of (Folin, Juulsen, Fleury) which ever has preformed best in mini camp
Price
Lindgren

A conditional 2021 1st is not getting you Domi....period! You are not dealing from a position of strength, Montreal does not need to trade Domi, worst case scenario is they sign him to a 1 year deal and move the decision to next off season. I agree that the 8th OA is a little rich for Domi straight up but I do feel that Domi + 2020 2nd(STL) = Buffalo's 2020 1st (8OA)
