I posted this in March

"Remember when Oliver Ekman-Larsson was almost somehow traded this offseason for real assets and not a cap-dump as one of the league’s most toxic contracts? By GSVA, he’s now considered to be only barely above replacement level at 0.2 wins of value and that has a lot to do with his most recent stretch of games where he’s essentially had a stay-at-home order in his own end.
Prior to Wednesday night’s game against the Avalanche where he shockingly broke the streak, the Coyotes were out-chanced in seven straight games with Ekman-Larsson on the ice. Badly too. In that time he has a 29 percent expected goals rate and no, he’s not being tasked with tough minutes either. Among Coyotes defensemen he’s actually last in forward competition quality faced. Ekman-Larsson hasn’t been the player his reputation has suggested he’s been for a while now, but this is a new low for him. For the year he’s cost the Coyotes 0.32 wins – sandwiched between Jack Johnson and Marc Staal, just shy of the league’s bottom 30. That’s not good company."

But please continue to move the goal posts. I had people telling me he was an all star in the offseason that demanded multiple 1st round picks.
The narrative has clearly changed but NOT my correct opinion of him from the Summer

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LeafsFanZay</b></div><div>Ok let me name all the fleece jobs (at least what i remember cuz i became a hockey fan in 2013)

- Eric Staal for two measly draft picks
- Anderson for Domi and a 3rd
- The Danault trade
- Pacioretty trade
- Petry trade

Times he got fleeced
- Sergachev/Drouin trade

Every other move is in the middle</div></div>

Problem with Bergevin is he's more concerned about how he's viewed than building a team. Winning small trades doesn't move the needle. Bargain Bin Bergie is a thing and it made him look terrible with those small "wins" at TDL with Merrill and Gustafsson. Yeah they were cheap but you locked in your lineup with no cap space or roster moves (1 left) so CC cant be called up when they desperately need him in the lineup to fix a bad PP and give some balance to the lineup with no Gallagher.

Look no further than the Karl Alzner buyout as the key example of his incompetence. Now most ppl see that as being inconsequential but when you look closer, that contract was close to buyout proof. They would have had better cap savings this year keeping him in the minors (1 mil) with less term going forward.

Bergevin did that buyout as a favour to Karl Alzner so he could be free to get a job in the NHL (useless, he did not) but hey Karl likes him now (high five)

This is my biggest pet peeve with Bergevin. He rather looked swole and have everyone like him than be a good GM.

He's had 9 years and the team isn't any better, i'd argue the team is worse with no star players unlike what he inherited with MaxPac, PK and vintage Price

I like this one! Already seen DobberHockey copy a lot of my picks today but then again Dobber also said Seabrook could waive his NMC lol he retired. dobber dumber doo. Locking this one in. Hoping I can get 25% of these right as im sure deals will be done. I can see Boston moving a 1st rounder for example with a cap dump like John Moore as the Bruins Cup window is now with a tight cap.
