He is only 21 years old, even if their timeline is 5 years he will still be in his prime. 21 is the type of age where you can fit any timeline unless you pull a Buffalo Sabers and go on a 10+ year rebuild. Also he wasn't working because his wrists weren't fully healed until this summer and could you imagine going to work knowing that your bosses and some of your Co-workers were involved in covering up and bulling a man for being SA'ed and then that SAer was recommended for a highschool, no way you could preform your best.

Pronman draft list
If MTL is picking anywhere in the top 10 they're taking a forward. Sale, Yager, Benson will all likely be in that range and should be who they target.
Then with the Florida pick they likely target the RHD like Cam Allen

A smart GM would trade thinking about value, not position. Caufield is worth ALOT MORE than Dubois.

Gallagher Anderson overpaid
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OlegP</b></div><div>I literally said he's overpaid BUT so what?! He's not a problem on the Habs thus teams wouldn't be doing them a favour by receiving his contract. But most ppl have tunnel vision here and cant see the other side which is why every trade offer 99.9% of the time is called a rip off from both sides.</div></div>
Not everyone reads the description, so perhaps they assumed from the title this was a typical "Anderson is worth a ton" ACGM thread but you're specifically talking about the value he brings to the Habs. Or maybe they just have it out for Anderson.
It's normal to have first assumptions about things, but that's why discussion is important.

Nah, the OP means for the Habs Anderson is like a Ferrari (although I don't agree). He's not saying that other teams would be lucky to have him and the small price of a 1st round pick.

It has more to do with the cap squeeze, and how teams with cap space are weaponizing cap space more than analytics. So when there are players doing the same for less, those players look like cap dumps/overpaid (which they are relatively).

Gallagher Anderson overpaid
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OlegP</b></div><div>Of course. That is a reality that is hard to ignore but the reality of other teams that value a cap hit at Gallagher's number and the Habs value of Gallagher are NOT one and the same</div></div>
I agree but that's just the perception from rebuilding teams, even guys who are good and are 28-32 with a larger cap hit 4-5m from different teams are considered cap dumps by fan of rebuilders.
I remember that I suggested that Vegas trade William Karlsson at 4.5mx5 to Detroit since I saw that Yzerman said he plans to be active in FA and that they are looking to compete. Some Detroit fans tried to tell me it was going to cost Vegas assets to dump him, and I was arguing that at 4.5m that's a pretty reasonable cap hit, and he's an amazing playoff performance. FA comes and Yzerman signs Andrew Copp for 5.625mx5 and he's just a year younger.
So I think the issue more has to do with the overvaluing of cap space. I get what GMs of rebuilders are trying to do, but the fans take it to another level and just want to clear cap or save cap for no reason but for the potential of gaining assets.

Even in the context of the team though, I don't think he's as important as Gallagher. Perhaps he does bring a more physical mentality to the line up, however, I do think he's replaceable.

dach squared
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OlegP</b></div><div>This is only scratching the surface of Kirby's talent. He wins board battles, excellent vision, his wing span creates so much offense just with his ability to reach pucks. That is quite the stretch. He's looking like another Getzlaf even if it's on the wing. I dont think they could have found a better option to play with a smart player at center like Suzuki and a pure goal scorer like Caufield.</div></div>
Cool. I don't doubt Dach could become something like that, but when it comes to him, I'll believe it when I see it consistently. We saw flashes like this a few times in CHI too, and then he would just disappear for very long stretches. I am willing to bet a lot of that was Colliton's awful coaching and mismanagement of Dach from top to bottom, but again, I'll believe it when I see it and see it consistently for long stretches from him.

Horvat to Colorado with an extension doesnt work
A few obvious problems here:
1) avs would almost definitely trade girard before trading byram
2) byram could be bridged around $4 million (Dobson comp) so that would carve out an extra million
3) Horvat isn’t getting 8x8. In his dreams lol. 7x7 is more likely
4) that cap is probably going up $4 million, not $1 million.
By my math, you could easily come up with an extra $5 million in cap space if you’re more realistic with you signings, trades, and cap movement

I assume Vancouver just shuts their mouth and takes the offer here, cause this is a better offer than they will get otherwise for Horvat at 50% retained, and they're moving a cap dump.
