Does Andrew Laad interest you at all? Say you're looking for a top-6. We might be interested in Brian Dumoulin.

Fair trade, but I think your contract extensions are a bit low. Both Schaller and Khudobin will likely get close to $2M, The term seems fair, though.

That would be a solid offseason for the Canes. I think Ottawa would be interested in Faulk, too.

I haven't crunched the numbers but I don't think you can trade for RNH ($6M cap hit), and still find a way to sign Carlson without trading someone like Krejci ($7.25M hit). See what I'm saying?

4 stars because the trade was pretty well thought-out. Is Lehner only worth $3M, though? I would think he would sign a short-term contract for $3M, maybe one year, that way if he improves his numbers he can sign at longer term for more money.

Staal, Spurgeon, Brodin, and Zucker traded.
Re: the Carlo/Brodin trade - Bruins haven't been too eager on trading him. He's still very young, very big, and has a ton of potential to be a shut-down defenseman in this league. Rumors were Colorado wanted Carlo and were willing to give Landeskog for him (a year or two ago), but Sweeney wouldn't pull the trigger.
I do think the Bruins have inquired about Brodin before, though - and I could see a trade happening. Just not this one.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>ya, i mean that's a good D corps top to bottom. Very good. The bottom six is pretty weak, it would be great if they could find a way to get another center in the mix so donato can play a year on the wing. Could a Krug for Brodin straight up swap make sense?
My idea was to trade Krug for Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and take a serious run at Carlson.</div></div>
The issue with trading Krug for RNH straight-up is that you're not shedding much cap space to sign Carlson.
EDIT: Actually, you're taking on a little more cap from RNH's $6M hit.

I'll give this 4 stars because the trade is pretty realistic. That SHOULD get it done..but who knows. I will say that Tim Schaller will want a bit more than $950K for two years. Czarnik shouldn't be making more than him at this particular juncture of their careers.

Kessel/Carlson to B's... PLEASE COMMENT
I don't hate the Carlson signing. It's long and expensive, but a huge improvement to the blue line. Like, huge. I don't think trading for Kessel makes much sense, though. You have a lot of rookies to re-sign in the coming years and after givign Carlson that massive contract, you should probably trade Krug (if at all) for someone with less of a cap hit.

That 4th line is pretty young - probably should re-sign Timmy Schaller and slot him in. Played great this season - definitely above expectations. Seen a lot of people interested in signing De Haan - I think that's fair value. Defense looks fine to me.

Just curiosity, that’s all. I know a lot about Spooner having watched him in the minors up through the Bruins so I’m curious as to how Rangers fans consider him.

Krug for RNH
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>Well, here's the thing, I thought the idea was to win a Stanley cup, not build a good lineup for fantasy hockey. Krug is horrible defensively. Trading him after a 59 point season is selling high, and buying low. The Leon comment is a joke. Krug and 5 first round picks for Leon? Maybe. They honestly probably still say no to that. Krug is a fraction of the player you make him out to be.....it's not all about points. Krug out and RNH in makes them far better.</div></div>
This is just so wrong. Krug is not “horrible defensively” - that’s an extreme exaggeration. He’s fine defensively, but is even better offensively which fits Bruce Cassidy’s system. You’re significantly underrating Krug. Bad trade.

Krug had 33 more points than Nurse having played less games. That’s very significant. Why would you downgrade on defense?
Also Nuge is still making $6M per year to do what Krejci already does.

Although this does lower cap hit a little bit, Schaller, Kuraly, Khudobin, and Grzelcyk will all need a bigger pay day than what they have here.
Also Nurse and Nuge don’t really improve the Bruins. Makes them just as competitive so the trade doesn’t have much of a point to it.

Wow, is that all it would take to get Letang? Bruins have a ton of assets and could probably make a trade happen. I'm not a Pens fan and don't watch all 82 games for them, but I do feel like that's undervaluing him. Could be wrong though.

How are you going to sign McQuaid to $900,000? He's already making more than that and hasn't proven he should get less than what he already has. The trade for Bo Horvat is way too much, too. Vancouver would be totally fleecing the Bruins there.
Also, Tim Schaller, Ryan McDonagh, and Eric Staal all will require more money than what you've signed them at.

McQuaid isn't even worth a second, IMO. Not at the draft - and maybe at the trade deadline but that's if a team is desperate. Johnny Boychuk was three times as effective as McQuaid and only went for two-second rounders. Other than that, Senyshyn isn't quite ready for the third line. Wish you would have re-signed Tim Schaller.

Yeah, I don't find this to be "the most realistic" or an upgrade at all. I don't mind acquiring Nick Leddy, but not for Torey Krug - who is arguably better.
