Long Term future
IMO save some room for El Capitan. Knock on wood, but Getzlaf shows all signs of staying productive well into his late 30's, a la Joe Thornton. I would not be at all surprized if Getzy is still wearing orange and black 5 years from now on a team-friendly contract as our 3rd/4th line center

I also expect we will see Sprong and Comtois called up at some point in the season to see what we have in them

You've got most of the right pieces, just not in the right places
HCDE seems to be designing his roster to roll all four lines and give roughly equal minutes, so the key is to have a balance of veterans & youth on each line
So far this season the forward lines have looked like:
Shore/Ritchie - Getzlaf - Kase
Rakell - Steel/Lundestrom - Silferberg
Jones - Henrique - Terry
Shore/Deslaurier - Grant - Rowney

Just some thoughts
So you traded a 23 y/o Top-9 Winger for a 28 y/o AHL goalie
And a 29 y/o middle-6 center for a 27 y/o 7th D
How do those trades make ANA younger?...or better?
.
.
.
Also, those lines are a hot mess

Giving Mahura and Rico to Seattle sounds like a nightmare though. Like Vegas 2.0...but worse. the ducks will be in a much better position going into the Seattle xpac draft. No NMCs, Getzlaf will be at the end of his contract so he wont need to be protected
The Seattle draft is gonna sting. We will lose a solid youngster, but there's no reason to give SEA an extra piece for free

I like the Ritchie - Mayfield trade for ANA. Not sure if NYI goes for it though. They have enough mediocre LWs on their roster

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Icarus</b></div><div>If you watched preseason, you'd understand why we wont. Give him a dozen AHL games before then.</div></div>
Agreed. Haki needs time to adjust the the north american rink. SD is where he needs to be for now, but I hope we get to see him again later in the season

Figure it out - With Trade
You say that Ritchie is a bust, but then expect to get a 2nd for him? You can't have it both ways. If he is a bust as you say then he's not worth more than a 3rd/4th
I personally believe that Ritchie, while not the player we hoped for, is still very serviceable as a third-liner. If Comtois wants to take his spot then he's going to have to out play him. I don't think we saw that in preseason

Opening Night Lineups
My guess is:
Comtois - Getzlaf - Terry
Rakell - Lundestrom - Silfverberg
Ritchie - Henrique - Rowney
Jones - Shore - Deslauriers
Lindholm - Manson
Guhle - Fowler
Larsson - Holzer
Gibson
Miller
Grant & MDZ heathy scratches

That was the hope, but he struggled to adjust to the north american size rink. He basically looked like a worse version of Holzer. I was intriqued when GMBM signed him. The front office must see something they like in him. But I remain unconvinced. Maybe some time in SD will help him adjust his game

Fair, fair. I'd call it a toss up. But I'd be lying if I wasn't personally hoping for Mahura/Hakanpaa
I see MDZ/Holzer as 7th defenseman calibur. And Larsson is rapidly running out of runway.

As a rebuilding/retooling team, I'm not tooo concerned about them making the playoffs this year. That said, I'm still hopeful that they could be a bubble team. Missing out on that potential lottery pick would be worth it to give our kiddos a taste of playoff hockey

Honestly, I agree.
Sprong seems disserviced on the 4th line. But I don't think he earns a spot over Kase, Silf, or Terry on RW. Maybe if Silf shifts to LW, Sprong can crack the Ducks top 9

Hmm, Tkachuk, I doubt it...
But, I suspect that either Hamonic or Brodie could be acquired for a minimal cost. Doing so would allow CGY to clear enough enough cap space to sign Tkachuk themselves, which, I assume, has to be priority #1 for the club

Agree with both. I like Sherwood but I don't think he cracks the line up in ANA; too much depth at RW
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ForsbergForVezina</b></div><div>I honestly hope they trade for Laine, he’d be a great fit and piece for the future</div></div>
Sure adding Laine is great in theory, but at what cost? I'm not in favor unless the deal is right

Outside look
Projecting this year's line up for ANA is a bit tricky b/c it will likely depend on a lot of youth infusion. The kids will likely be called up and down throughout the year to give them all a shot. That said, the opening night line up looks something like this imo.
Rakell - Getzlaf - Kase
Comtois - Henrique - Silfverberg
Ritchie - Steel - Terry
Shore - Rowney - Sprong
Lindholm - Manson
Guhle - Fowler
Larsson/Mahura - Hakanpaa
Gibson
Miller

I like the idea of adding Honka, but daaaamn where'd that signing come from? 3 x 2.1 for a guy who has barely ever cracked the lineup with his current club? Do you know something I don't? Because that seems like a massive overpay

Easy pass for ANA. Brodie and Frolik are fine players, but they're both on expiring contracts. A rebuilding/retooling team like ANA shouldn't be giving up futures for two rentals that will need to be overpaid next year to stay in town.
