CAR - EDM
Hard pass on the EDM trade.
Strome is more valuable to the Hawks than Broberg, easily. The Hawks already have a glut of young D prospects, if we were to trade it would be for someone who was NHL ready now.

Dylan strome at the deadline
Yeah, I don't see the Hawks trading their 2/3C who is an RFA and young for a bunch of castoffs and some picks.
Saad would make more sense (although I think he's staying a Hawk). For Saad, I would expect Gagner (to offset salary), a 1st, and a B prospect. Strome fetches more than that.

Likely First 9 - After Dev Camp
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>I think it's a bit optimistic to have Nylander on the 2nd line and Boqvist on the top pair. Don't be me wrong, I like Boqvist a lot. He hasn't had to play defense against real men yet. DeHaan to IR yeah, but move Gus to the right and Slater with either Murphy or Seabook. Dahlstrom backing him up. I hear ya though.</div></div>
This is just for the first 9 games. I think Boqvist ends up going back to the AHL, Dach I'm less sure about. I really don't believe the Hawks traded for Nylander to not give him that shot - if he struggles there i imagine him going to play on the top line in Rock Vegas with Sikura.

De Haan is on IR, not LTIR there - his full cap is counted in the above.

Unrealistic Chicago trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>glc_0908</b></div><div>yeah right, you'd have to move the garden to chicago, inherit the rangers 4 cups, and solve world hunger to trade for kane on this site.</div></div>
I mean, you're talking about a 30 year old winger who is one of the best players in hockey, crucial to the team he plays on, and who has no reason to be traded by said team. Oh, and he's going to be cheaper than most of his younger counterparts shortly, due to cap inflation.
If the Rangers wanted to trade for Kane, it would likely look like Kakko, Skjei, Strome, 2020 1st, and a B+ prospect. Which is why it would never happen for either team.

Why does not one here understand LTIR?
They have to shed the salary, or they're pinned with no ability to make any moves within the season. I don't think Hague gets moved, but if I'm the Knights I happily toss someone a 2nd to take Clarkson.

The Hawks couldn't afford Niemi because of the Hammer offer sheet. THat's the shtick.

Forsling or Dahlstrom are probably most likely from that roup to be moved. I imagine we'd want a 5th or so for Dahlstrom, and maybe something a little better for Forsling.

Yeah, Joker is clearly Maatta's pari on the 2nd line. It looks like we'll be seeing Keith - Murphy as the number one, at least for now.
I do think there's a trade possibility there, though, something involving Mitchell or Krys for a lesser return.

Retool for next year
So you buyout Seabrook to bring Boq up a year early, play Murray on the wrong side, and where's Jokiharju? Also, Kurashev won't be a center in the NHL, and where is Kampf? Kubalik? Wedin?
And most importantly, in what world is "scoring winger" a need? Defensively sound forwards and good defenseman are needs, and you traded away the second best defensive forward on the team and didn't sign the 4th best as an RFA.

Ghost Bear Thought
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>how could anyone think that the flyers would do that?</div></div>
Ghost Bear's value is going to continue to decline - coming off a rough year, and unless the Flyer's are really going to harm their long term defensive pairings, Ghost is going to be looking at either 2nd or 3rd line minutes on a weird pairing. With Sanheim and Provorov looking like the best LHD on the Flyer's, I would move him while he's at the most likely valuable.
Mitchell is a very good RHD prospect, which the Flyer's now have a dearth of, Sikura should get time moving up and down the Top 9 on PHI, and will be a cheap utility winger that fits the current Flyers better than Hartman. Anisimov fills a need for PHI as a stopgap Center assuming they can't sign Hayes, and he comes to them very cheap. Then a 1st on top of that. I'm sure another team might make a better offer (EDM? TOR?) but it's not as if this proposal has no value.
I'm curious to know what you think Ghost's value is after his 2018-19 season.

EDM WPG
I don't think the Hawks buyout Sekera if that's the defense they're icing.
I don't think that's enough to get that deal done with EDM. Maybe throw in the Hawks 2019 2nd and you get there. Even then, I'm not sure it works for either team. Losing Saad and Gs makes the Hawks much worse in the short term, and I don't know if a first and Poolparty as a reclamation project is enough to offset.

Byram shouldn't affect Mitchell - Mitchell's issue is Seabrook/Murphy. If Boq and Jokiharju are the future 2D/4D, what do we do with Seabs and/or Murph?

Clarkson is the dump, not Tuch. They clear 10M in pre-season cap space, and don't have to play LTIR games.
Clarkson as a dump would be similar to Hossa, which cost the Hawks Hinostroza and a 3rd (ish). Tuch is very good, which is why I noted the Hawks might need to add more. FOrsling and Sikura are both tweener prospects, they may be able to become good players at the NHL level, but their development is slower than many would like.

Chicago loses that trade. 1 year of Kreider+Strome isn't worth the fall in the draft.

TOR matches that - and I don't think Kapanen is the type of winger we're going after. Dzingel makes more sense.
Defense makes sense assuming we aren't trading Gus.

Podkolzin has appeared in the 15-20 range in two final rankings today. I see him going in the 10-15 range, certainly not at 3. Hawks are going Turcotte or Byram, book it.

New look D and a lot of trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>That's what I thought but I have no knowledge of Ian Mitchell, who is he?</div></div>
Mitchell is probably the Hawks 2nd best D prospect (if you don't count Jokiharju as a prospect). Murphy was our best defenseman last year, and is a very reliable 2nd pairing shut down D man on a good contract. Trouba is easily better than both, but Trouba will fetch a lot of money that the Hawks don't need to spend. If the Hawks move Mitchell, it will be part of a package for a forward (or an NHL ready LHD), and that package won't include Murphy.
