There’s a lot that’s wrong here but that Gaudreau deal is ridiculous. This looks like a team Jack Edwards put together

I agree with the idea needing someone who can win some draws. I think Sheahan is a good idea, but that price tag is a lot for a buy who’s a 4th liner

There is ZERO chance of this ever happening. I don’t care what you offer. If Adams traded him, he should be fired on the spot

Meh. They have some guys in their system who played this year and there is tons of guys who are UFA that could fill that role. I like Glendening but not at 1.5 or however much he makes.

Bargain hunting
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>No chance Arizona takes that. The only real value going to the Yotes is Lundkvist and the first, which will be late. They can get more for Shmaltz elsewhere. Not to mention giving up Fischer and a 3rd for Kakko and Georgiev, that part is a bit more fair, but I can’t imagine they would really interest the Yotes that much. For a guy who was able to put up 8 points in a single game, he can get more.</div></div>
Like I said, not sure about all the pieces but in my opinion on the Coyotes point of view it’s all about collecting assets. They have some young kids signed (Smith and McBain). your looking at value now instead of upside for the future. Essentially the Cotes are getting three 1st round picks and a goalie who can perhaps play better in a change of scenery

Like I said in the post it’s about flexibility. Strome and Copp are going to want some kind of conditions with their deals and long term (5-7 years). I don’t wanna trade Kakko either but you have to pay value to get something

Oilers won’t take on that contract, they’re looking to get cap space. Nemeth is more likely a buyout candidate. Agree with the Strome, Copp analysis, too much of an investment. Kinkaid, meh. If he was in a position where they thought he was better than Geogiev, don’t you think they would’ve brought him up earlier? I like some of your other ideas, they need flexibility

I think the value is fair though. Two young roster players, a fantastic prospect in Schnieder, and a couple of picks. Well done!</div></div>
Thanks. Anytime I try to do these things I try to be fair with them. I still see him as a top prospect. Sure he’s struggled with the adjustment to North America game but he’s also still young. So I’m willing to see how he is in a year or two. Patience is the key

The only reason I guess it might be “overkill” is because Kane has term. If he was set to be UFA then of course it’d be too much

If that’s the case then you’re okay with giving up Rust? Malkin and Letang are gonna command some term. Plus Jarry is gonna cash in 1yr after this season. They’re not gonna have much cap space.

Doesnt even matter anyway backups dont play in the playoffs</div></div>
Nemeth has zero value right now. He’s had a bad year both on and off the ice. No one is going to be banging down the door for him. Othmann isn’t getting traded for Chychrun. I like Chychrun, but not in a trade that involves Othmann. Is Geogiev the perfect backup, no, but I think if you’re going to trade him you’re not going to give the net to Kinkaid. You need a goalie who can come in and steal some games when called upon.

So if you’re getting Boeser, you’re willing to qualify him over the summer? If that’s the case, Rust is gone, it’s gonna be tougher to resign both Malkin and Letang, and Marino is a good dman with term at a manageable cap hit, why would trade him and then replace him with Schenn, doesn’t make sense.

This is a real playoff contender
Sure this a playoff contender, but these trades aren’t happening. First off these are all one sided deals, second Nemeth isn’t getting traded he has a 8 team NTC. The guy doesn’t hold much value right now, even if he were to waive it and he certainly won’t to be in the dessert. Third Othmann is pretty much untouchable, unless someone blows them away with an offer and this isn’t it. Do you really trust Kinkaid to be your backup if they do trade Geogiev? If they do trade him I think they’d need to make another deal to get one (Halak, Jones, etc)

Leafs do that deal all day long. Don’t understand the Preds deal. Pretty much giving up a top 4dman and a top 9 forward for a 1st, which will be probably middle round pick. Could get a lot more than that

I don’t get it… you’re pretty much giving away a 30 point guy and then getting Vlad Namestnikov to fill that spot? Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of Nemestnikov and I think it’d be a smart move or any playoff team to grab him, but in this instance it makes zero sense

NYR deadline
So to every single Rangers fan who keeps trying to include Nemeth in a trade. He has a MTC (8 teams) he has ZERO value right now! He has some dictation of where he can go and also has another 2yrs after this. Even if it’s a team who may need a dman or some depth piece they aren’t calling Drury asking about Nemeth. It’s a totally pipe dream of happening

Why would you ever want Subban back? He’s on the backend of his career and is a shadow of who he was 5-6yrs ago. Plus you’d have three RD in their mid 30yrs when those contracts are done.

The Blues are in a good position at net and arguably one of the best goalie tandems in the league. They want to win a cup, not get more scoring where that’s a strength of theirs.
