2nd line C-man
Both of these deals don’t help the Bruins. Especially that Coyotes deal. You really would wanna give up a 1st when you have two very manageable contracts that will just get buried in the minors just so you can get Galchenyuk?

I agree that everyone else will have a better offer than a 2nd, but Austin Rueschhoff isn’t going to tip the scale for then Sens

Agreed. On a Rangers perspective, they’d do that in a second. For Nashville theirs definitely better deals to make out there for Foresberg. Plus remember the Preds are as now in the playoffs and may just keeping him and try to get a deal done before FA starts

JT Miller makes too much sense
I don’t get the trades for either the Canucks or Chicago. Why would Van want a guy who’s a best a 7th dman, a goalie who isn’t going to get signed to an contract, after he got drafted in the 2nd of the draft in 2018, he’s just struggled and Gauthier who has shown flashes of skill but hasn’t put it all together. At this point in his career looks like he’s going to be a 4th liner or a fringe 3rd liner

ZERO chance Chicago does that deal. ZERO chance that Miller deal will work either. Why would they want a guy who’s at best a number 7 dman? Also you feel that much more comfortable with Kinkaid in net than Geogiev? I know he’s been struggling this year but I don’t see how that helps their backup situation better

Miller to Kings
I like the framework of this deal. Definitely helps both teams. Maybe Helenius in there instead of Faber, but both are good prospects. The draft picks are going to be tricky because I think the Canucks will want a 1st back in any Miller deal

Don’t see that Buffalo deal working. Like you said it’d be extremely hard to resign Olofsson. The price itself is a lot to give too.
I like the Namestnikov, I’ve put him in some of my own deadline deals too. He definitely fills a need.
Not sure why you’d want Beagle. Is he really that much better than what they have already. Plus he might not play again this year. He’s been hurt
I don’t get why people keep trying to trade Nemeth. He has a MTC. He’s not going anywhere, especially to PHX. Plus what value does he have right now. He’s had a horrible year on and off the ice. It’s just not gonna happen.

Gavrikov is a highly underrated dman. CBJ isn’t giving him up for that. Don’t mind the Miller trade offer, but I think other teams just have more attractive deals out there for VAN

I’m a Rangers, but my point is that these aren’t realistic. When trades are made they usually are trades that benefit BOTH teams, not deals that are this one sided

Don’t understand the fascination with trading Geogiev. Is there a backup in the league that’s available that is THAT much better than Geogiev? Is he the perfect backup, no. But I don’t see a trade that makes sense. And no Fleury wants to play, he’s not waiving to be a backup.

Me neither, but I think it’d be a great fit for the Bruins. Problem with the Bruins is that they don’t have a lot of good assets. Think all those deep playoff runs are starting to catch up on them

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Gardoki</b></div><div>So, not to get too hard into this because you seem reasonable, but they don't have the space next year. I unfortunately got into it with a Habs fan yesterday about this with them tryin to send Anderson there. The rangers have just under $10M in space next year with Strome, Kakko, Blais and needing a back-up, so that will eat every bit of space up.</div></div>
Well Miller would pretty much replace Strome and if they did resign Strome it would cost more than Miller is making right now. Kakkos coming off his ELC and he’ll get a bridge deal which I don’t think will cost too much (2yr 3-3.5mill). Blais has been hurt all year and I don’t think he can command more than what he’s making right now. But yes they’ll be tight against it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Gardoki</b></div><div>I think this trade is ultimately closer to what it will really look like. I think Miller's realistic value is a 1st, 2nd and a prospect, but in this case Lundqvist would suffice for a 2nd, so I really don't think this will be far off.
The only x-factor is the Rangers would have to move out salary, so in a bubble this trade works, but there are more ramifications for the Rangers.</div></div>
They actually have enough place to absorb him this year and next. My concern on a Rangers end of things is that in two years it’ll be hard to get him to an extension because that’s when things get really tight on the cap. Lafreniere, K’Andre Miller, Jones come off their ELC and Chytil too.

Good depth, lots of speed, PK guy who could slide onto your 3rd line if needed, due to injuries. Plus I know the Pens have some injuries. But you may be right, probably more of a 4th or 4th with some conditions

Yeah agreed. People got to remember, it’s trade deadline. A lot of teams are going to overpay for assets. Plus I don’t understand why would MTL do this trade in the first place. Two late 2nd round picks, a 7th dman, and a guy who’s going to be on LTIR.

True, but the question is then, do you think they’re in a position to make big splash deals and potentially mortgage some of the prospects/draft picks to make a big run for the cup? Are they actually there yet?
I honestly don’t, they’ve had a great year and exceeded everyone’s expectations, but I think everyone needs to be honest with themselves instead of wanting to make the big deal when they’re not in a position to just yet. What I’m saying is it’s great to make trades, but not moves that are going to hurt the team in the future, especially when they need more experience in the playoffs and grow as a group
