Asset evaluation for potential Fiala trade
Sens are pretty hot after Fiala as well, also rumored to be willing to part with their first. So I'm guessing a package would look like 2022 1st plus a prospect i wonder if Zetterlund would be a guy to look at?

Dumba gone next year
I think it was Dom at the Athletic who has Middleton's contract comparables at 4 mil/year i do not recall the term on that. That said he has openly expressed his joy about playing in Minnesota so maybe he gives Wild a discount. I for one hope he re-signs.
Love Fiala, hope moving Dumba can free up the cap space maybe Dumba and Kulikov? But realistically Billy is going to get a nice package in exchange for Fiala and possibly Dumba. 🤷🏻♀️

He’s already in the AHL, as he just joined to team for the playoffs, so if things go well there and in training camp this offseason, he could very well make the team next year.</div></div>
No disagreement on that, but is Trotz going to be willing to give a rookie meaningful minutes with all the vets he has?

Wild are a different team this year, i know they mostly just lose to the Blues but come playoffs the whistles stay in the pocket so i think 5 v 5 Wild are beat the Blues in 7.

Totally agree, but let's assume Foligno can't go. You think Bjugstad/ Jost/ or Duhaime is on Ek line? I think it's Jost with Dewer handling 4th line center duty.

Fiala Draft Picks and Prospects
I think Guerin would ask for Räty and possibly the 1st he would balk at Bellows discussion on here.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AndrewGoalie33</b></div><div>That’s an overpay for Fiala. Raty just had a PPG season in the Liiga as a 19 year old and the isles 1st this year is solid. Although Fiala is a great player, I think Raty has higher potential, so I’d rather have him and the 1st. Also, its universally agreed upon that Mike Reilly is worth a 3rd</div></div>
Räty may have higher potential but Lou couldn't care less about the future. Islanders are a team who are long in the tooth, so they need to prioritize players who can play now. A Barzal-Fiala combo might be to good to pass up for Lou.
Not sure Guerin can walk away with both Räty and the 13th pick but it is a weaker draft so maybe.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>User123409871234</b></div><div>Thought process here is bang for your buck. Someone has to move out of the top 6 - you could get a lot more for Hartman at 33 and counting than you could Gaudreau and you give Gaudreau the opportunity to become the next Hartman. At the end of the day with the amount of people in the pipeline getting ready for real NHL minutes - in terms of asset management - Hartman is as high of a value guy right now as he will ever be with 2 years left at 1.7M</div></div>
Makes sense, but since Hartman signed that team friendly to stay in MN it would really set a bad precedent when asking future free agents to sign a team friendly.

I see no way Wild trade Hartzy. I haven't seen his analytics, but i think his play is sustainable, i don't see anything flukey about his scoring.

Dumba Moving and Staying Competitive
Is Spence really worth all that? The Dumbs trade is great if Columbus agrees and if Columbus isn't on Dumba's M-NTC.
Middleton can get more. Maybe he agrees to a team friendly deal for next 3 years because he likes it here.
I agree Deslauries should be re-signed he keeps Foligno in the game, unless Duhaime hits the gym and trains to become a better enforcer.
No taxi squad next year so I'm not sure if that's your AHL rotation of guys that get call ups. My point though is that Bjugstad at that price will get claimed off waivers.

Hopefully Guerin can exploit some Fletcher esq GM. Not sure what Allvin is that guy yet, but maybe Jim Rutherford talks him into it.
I don't hate this deal but as mentioned Dumba should return similar to Risto and i don't think Wild can afford to retain.

I wish there was a way, but no way Fiala is back next year. Wild won't be able to find a trade partner with enough cap space to take Dumba without sending back a cap hit.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>iAce</b></div><div>I agree. Hartman now over 30 goals with today's performance. He signed a team friendly deal to stay in Minnesota. I doubt Billy G moves him in the cap strapped years without a huge price tag on him. I think the Wild will try to lock him up long term depending on the price. By long term, I mean a 4-5 year deal. He can also play the wing and play with skill or sandpaper. We'll need him and his contract to stay competitive. That being said, I like to hear your side of the trade proposal.</div></div>
If you are asking my side, it's that i totally agree with you. Domi hasn't been good in years and would be better if he would just except a move to wing. Also i can't see Domi taking a team friendly deal to stay in MN. It wouldn't be logical for Wild fans to expect this out of Hartman for the next 5 years but who knows he keeps growing as a player, like Foligno did/ has. I do hope Billy is able to reward Hartzy with his next contract. Even if Hartzy isn't the #1C long term he should continue to have a spot on the team as a gritty wing long term at a minimum.

I'd rather see Räty and the 1st for Fiala. Gotta believe when Guerin send Fiala to the auction this summer. Sens, Devils, Kings, Sabres, and Islanders will all be looking at him. I'd say the East would be Billy's preference but the kings have a lot of young talent they could persuade Bill with.

If you're using this ACGM as a baseline then you're right. I think most of us think he will return a high end prospect and a high 1st, say around #10 over all.

Trade-downs at draft
This is interesting. But can you really say that Boeser is 1 Pavel Zacha better than Fiala and 9 spots in what is generally considered a weak draft? I get the argument but i gotta believe Fiala and Boeser are near equal value, i may be way off, and so then in my head Zacha is worth 9 spots in a weak draft. Straighten me out if I'm way off.

I guess i didn't here Russo say anything about re-signing Dumba. I mean wild have Merrill, Goligoski, Brodin, Spurgeon, Kulikov, Dumba, and Addison ready with one more year on his ELC and Middleton is a RFA who will likely fit the Wild salary cap restrictions. So someone has to go.
That said this package isn't going to get it done.

Basically if you draft a guy in the first round and don't or can't sign him you get a second round pick. I'm sure it's a later 2nd rounder but Johansson doesn't bloom like a NHLer right now.
Yeah, I know it may be a bit heavy. Maybe a mid round pick instead of Thomson?</div></div>

Wild are just not going to sign Johansson and get the 2nd round compensatory pick. Don't know how Lassi's development has gone but i expect this is to much for Fiala.
