A future, likely late, 1st and we have to eat Smith's contract?
Its rough out here

I don't see the Bruins taking Forsberg back at that cap hit unless they have a plan to move Bussi in another trade and think they can't sign Lindholm or another impact dman.

Defensively you could say his -30 is pretty bad but when you consider the poor team defence and the “goaltending” the senators got this year you can’t really blame the guy for most of it haha</div></div>
Judging McAvoy by points alone rather than complete play. All I’m suggesting is that the standard comp is a first and a third for an expiring contract.

Sounds good but I’d rather move Chychrun</div></div>
Chychrun likely signs for a good chunk less than Chabby's 8m, he's a year younger as well. One of them needs to go for sure and Chych is a year younger.
Might be a toss up between the two.

Pick swap aside would you trade Brady and JBD for Jiricek and Johnson? I most definitely would not.</div></div>
It gives us an opportunity for Demidov, Lindstrom or Levshunov.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OwnGoal</b></div><div>In this scenario I think I would keep Brannstrom for that bottom pair, but I’m biased. I think you could get away without toffoli too. Maybe target Roy out of Vegas for the bottom6?</div></div>
Yeah Branny is fine on 3rd, especially paired with Hakanpaa~ I added Tofolli at the end, I was between him and March~ They're just nice to haves but not needed. Roy would be a smarter choice and we just keep Giroux in the top 6.

You know what? I'm sold entirely because of the prospect of a Mateychuk -> Yakemchuk -> Tkachuk goal being scored

Attempt at some upgrades
Forsberg has 1 year left, OTT can just buy him out rather than lower the return on a chych deal, a barely 3rd liner and a late first dont get chych with or without Forsberg OTT declines.
FLA will need to pay to move knight, OTT declines that trade and you dont spend 1st round picks on gambles....

Obviously tkachuk is only being traded due to an issue. You guys sound like me with eichel trades in 2021</div></div>
Eichel forced his way out of Buffalo. Brady actively wants to stay in Ottawa. The trade chatter is just speculation, everyone thinking wouldn’t it be nice to have a player like that built for the playoffs.
Ottawa isn’t interested in moving him but if they were open to it there would need to be more than this package.

Cant they just trade Chabot or Chychrun and get a better 1st round pick + prospect? they are also selecting in the top 10 which will give them a high end player
edit:
i also had them wanting to immediately compete and make playoffs next year

honestly yeah I think I’d probably do that for the Sens. I can definitely live with the Sens moving Boston’s 1st for the right reasons and you certainly took the care to properly address the Sens’ needs here. I think the hesitation comes from that these aren’t necessarily bonafide “perfect, now the Sens are set” pieces. Jensen (or TVR) are somewhat sorta bubble 2nd pairing guys and Lindgren has been playing like a true starter this year, but we all know how goalies can be. Sens might do this trade but still need to do more for the same positions. either way, I don’t dislike it at all. value seems reasonable enough too

maybe the easiest offersheet of all time
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Borocop</b></div><div>yeah it’s a gamble but the age + archetype + advanced metrics in his (albeit limited playtime) make it worthwhile imo. I don’t think it’s comparable to Pinto though, this is a predatory contract offer with a super manageable AAV, to poach a player whose opportunity is blocked from a cap strapped team. Pintos coming off a 41 game gambling suspension & for someone to make a contract offer that the sens can’t handle it would need to be pushing over 6m AAV, which is a way bigger risk so nobody is going to do it.</div></div>
I think Vegas will make a trade before free agency opens up. Either they opt to keep Korczak and move Whitecloud or the other way around. IF Whitecloud becomes available Ottawa should be all over him though
