playoffs
The big thing about any Puljujarvi trade is that (in addition to lowering his value by playing bad), he has already publicly asked for a trade out of Edmonton. Thus, other teams basically know that Edmonton is desperate to move him, before they lose him for nothing if he goes to play in Europe. So while teams might still see the value in him as a reclamation project, they are gonna lowball the hell outta Edmonton, because they can get away with it.

Do you know something about the 2020 second round that everyone else doesn't? Why dump a good young Dman in Jokiharju for a pick??
I think the Seabrook contract is nigh un-moveable at this point. No one's gonna touch that thing unless there is some major greasing from Chicago. I sense a LTIRetirement in Brent's future

Bargain hunting
This is....... wow. Blues don't even answer the phone.
If we don't resign Maroon, it will be because we have younger forwards stepping up to take his spot. Not gonna trade for a worse version in Kassian, and continue to deny young guys ice time.
I can realistically see the Blues dealing Fabbri, but probably not taking Brodziak in return. I loved him when he was a blue, but we have moved on and our 4th line/PK is better than ever. We have gotten younger and faster in the bottom 6, and Brodz just doesn't make the cut anymore.

I think in real value yes, but in the context of team needs Pesce is more important to the Canes, that's why the ask is higher.

Canes are gonna want more for their young #1 D-man. I think Ehlers for Dougie Hamilton straight up is more likely

what's the point of punting? Leafs have a great team. All punting accomplishes is burning a year of JT's prime.

VAN has stepped fully into the rebuild. I think they value the pick over Spurgeon right now. Although Spurgeon is a good dman. If he played well in VAN they could flip him for even more.

Doesn't make any sense from the Sharks perspective. They are in the midst of a rapidly closing cup window, they aren't gonna give up their best young player (besides hertl) for picks. They need impact roster players

3) I want lafreniere. I understand it's a lottery (Which f'ed us this year) But hopefully next year the Hockey gods will help haha
Also Doughty,Kopi and Brown all said they want to be here and all there Wife's/Girlfriends all love LA and I don't think if we tank for one year and trade contracts for younger prospects or picks will benefit us for the longer run.</div></div>
The kings do have that going for them. No matter how bad hockey is, you're still a rich in LA lol

I don't think Canes even want Carter, much less in return for 2 3rds.
Supposedly a team in the top 10 wants Spencer Knight
Also this is totally blowing it up. Without Quick feels like this group would win 20 games. If they are complete trash, do Doughty/Kopitar/Brown ask out?

Nashville never does this. Neal's contract is shorter and cheaper, but he has fallen off a cliff. Turris had a down year, and can still bounce back to be somewhat worth his deal. Preds are trying to compete and Neal takes them further away from that

Using Long Term Deals
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>The issue with this is if you bridge him and he grows to what he's supposed to be, he won't be getting 8.5m a year. He'll be asking for 10+</div></div>
Paying him fair value after he develops to be worth it seems fine to me. At $8.5/8 you're saving $2.5 - 3 M per year from this full potential deal. Worst case scenario, he stays a streaky 30 goal, 50-60 point guy, and that contract is an albatross.
But, its all speculation in the end. Hope he does well. At the very least, I think he bounces back from this terrible season

Using Long Term Deals
Why even take the risk of breaking anything with Laine right now? He just came off his worst season, if you will eventually pay him +$8M, why not bridge him for 2-3 years at $6.5 first? Thenhe can get his big deal at time when the Jets can better afford it, post Little-Buff contracts

Hamburglar and no Pavs
There was a report or tweet this morning that said that Jumbo wanted to come back, and would pretty much play for whatever was left for SJS to give him. So he might be making vet min next season.
I think that Pavelski would likely take a pay cut to ride it out with the Sharks, and I think another team would be making a bad call to give him more than $7M, at his age.

Philly trade is wack
Buffalo trade is bad.
In this scenario, why do we trade Jake Allen and then sign Petr Mrazek? He is gonna want starter time, and Binnington is the guy now. McElhinney is the better option for that imo. He knows his role is a backup, and he did well for the Canes last season.
I don't think Eddy gets that much of a raise. His worst season yet imo. Bridge him for $3.2/3.
Not sure why Barbashev gets paid twice as much as the other RFA's. Him and Sundqvist are pretty much even, and they played Sunny at C on their line, so i'd think if anything he gets paid more.

I think Hayes was an overpay, and also Karlsson is an RFA, so he has less leverage. I still see him between $6.5-$7.5 M. A trade of Haula or Eakin does look more likely tho.

What does CGY get out of that deal? 3 total question Mark's from STL for a proven top 2-4 dman in Brodie
