<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pretzelcoatl</b></div><div>Devils do that no questions asked, especially if they're in on another goalie like Gibson</div></div>

okayyy hold up I'm vetoing this lol jk
I do think Pettersson starts with a 1st, he's rlly established himself as a legit #1LHD who is elite defensively and can cover for the most offensive of Offensive d-men like Karlsson and Letang... so a 1st and a B+ prospect (preferable RHD or C) I think is a starting point...
I have heard some good stuff about Bahl but I don't see a need for Vitek V in PIT tbh...

for Ned prob a 3rd tops a 2nd if he continues to play well by the deadline....
just my two cents...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Marcsnack</b></div><div>I think Jake &amp; MP carry more value than that.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>edeangel84</b></div><div>Jake could get more but those are the kind of players we need in return, young entry level deals that are ready to play right now.</div></div>

true, but we could get more... and I had not thought of BOS as a fit for Jake... I thought they would be needing C depth not more wingers...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pens1991</b></div><div>These are just terrible returns for the penguins.

Both can return a 1st round pick, specially if you retain Jake 50% and even retain on Pety for the rest of this year and next.

If you're going to send Jake to boston and not take a 1st back then the young player coming back needs to be someone like Poitras or Beecher whom have both shown some skill in the NHL already. Or Lysell and a 1st or 2nd.

Pety also gets a better return. You could get a 1st for retaining and Bahl and that's much better. Foote isn't moving the needle and having to hold Vanceck for this year and next needs to cost the Devils.

Would rather add a pick + prospect than strictly prospects.</div></div>

yesssss, poitras would be the perfect guy to snatch, but knowing BOS they wouldn't do it probably...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Victor24</b></div><div>Every single trade is undervalued on the Pens side.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AStovetop</b></div><div>Colorado probably isn't the team to get Guentz, but I think he gets more than that. Carolina would make more sense

Oilers should absolutely do that IMO

No chance Arizona does that, even if they do have an endless supply of 2nd rounders</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pens1991</b></div><div>These are terrible deals for the penguins?????

I think Jake to COL makes sense, but I doubt that's where COL adds. Jake is worth a 1st + prospect (or 2nd) at deadline.

POJ is not worth a 3rd.

Pety and Smith NTC's block the trade to Arizona. Pety retained at 50% is easily returning a 1st to a team contending that needs a defenseman badly (TOR/DAL/NJ/Etc). Not sure what you can do with smith given his cap hit and realistically the pens would retain on Jake and Pety and those spots are the only two open.

The EDM trade is god awful. How do you not have a pens getting a 1st round pick in that? No one is taking Campbell's cap/term without at least a 1st coming back and EDM knows that.</div></div>

if we were doing a full rebuild, which we're simply not... worst case is a retool... bc that's the mandate from ownership I believe until I hear otherwise.......
then putting that aside......

gotta think PIT could get a 1st back from EDM esp with taking the Campbell deal... and broberg requested a trade, so his value is down... and they have been super desperate for goaltending...

that would be steal for ARI, but I see them building from within and not making splashes at the TDL even if they're in the mix...

Guentzel does have more value if we retain, but don't think COL would be the team to get him... I have previously thought of LAK, MIN, FLA, SEA but who knows honestly at this point....

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TMLBRIAN</b></div><div>Pits need to sell. If Crosby and Malkin agree to waive. And if they decide to retain 50% on Karlsson. Pits could get ALOT and set themselves up very nicely for the future.</div></div>

Just stop. This is insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>edeangel84</b></div><div>The core aren’t going anywhere. That’s what I can basically guarantee you. Geno had his chance to walk away but it was clear Sid wanted him and Tanger back. They’re 90% likely to all retire here. The best player for us to trade is Jake. He is in the right place in his career to be dealt and get us some futures back. I could see MP going too while his value is still good.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pens1991</b></div><div>Sid Geno and Tanger go no where, they want to finish their careers together. If the team really turns south they still get to play together, help build the next group. They've had more success together than 99% of NHL players ever will have. They stay.

Not to mention people who act like they'd garnish a huge return at this stage of their careers are crazy. Crosby for sure still gets a 1st in his deal, not sure about the others. Would need to be retention on part of the penguins.</div></div>

PERIOD. END OF DISCUSSION LOL :tearsofjoy why do people keep saying we should trade these guys???

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JSEB93</b></div><div>I will not tolerate Zohorna slander haha.

In all seriousness though - he's definitely NHL caliber. Even if it is 4th line. He's proven himself worthy of that at least. Especially if it's for basically league min</div></div>

100% agree, he had a nice few games but when 5'9" Puusty plays with more grit than 6'7" Zohorna......it's time to get rid of Big-Z

That would leave us with your unprotected 2025 1st round pick, which could be a high lottery pick with this type of a roster tear down.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheAlien</b></div><div>No way in hell the Canucks are giving up 3+ 1sts for a Karlsson that won't be on their PP1</div></div>

That too. I don't really know POJ's value but remove him and the 4th from PIT's side and Byram from the Avs side and add in something else from the Avs. Probably Gulyayev and look for some retention.</div></div>

I literally didn't even read the trades, I just the idiotic suggestion that Pittsburgh trade a Bunch of guys that literally are not going anywhere anytime soon emphasis soon... (caveat--maybe Sid at 40 plays a season elsewhere) and immediately was disgusted more than Dubas watching us get whooped 7-0... touchdown leafs!

Let's all take a breath, hold hands, stand in a circle and sing "Kum Ba Ya", and agree both Pettersson and Soucy are good players in their own way... lol :tearsofjoy they both play very different styles... which one each person would rather have is merely personal preference... I'd honestly take both on my team and be very happy with the left side of my top-4...
I'd rather have Soucy rn than graves that's for sure...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>lowblocksniper</b></div><div>I thinkl that would be an easy trade to accept for Calgary, a 3rd rounder for a player picked up on waivers + Nieto is decent.

I would think Puljujarvi would need to be playing the best hockey of his career (1PPG or better) not just good, to take Rust's spot when he comes back healthy. I know you said he'd ''need to get going'' but, even if he pays at a 20G 60P pace, which he's never done, you can't play him over Rust who has done better than that and was playing at a 40G 80P pace before his injury</div></div>

yeah that all makes sense... rust has been on fire so assuming that is still the case it would be hard to play him on the third line... like I'm not sure he could produce from there but you never know...

<a href="/users/pens1991" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@pens1991</a> I do completely agree with your line of thinking in this post tho, Puusty has been a breath of fresh air for an AHL guy who actually has some hands and just enough skill to play in the top-6 and actually put in consistent effort (looking at you Alex Nylander) and yeah with Puljijarvi I'm meh... he's only skated once I believe and I'm all for giving him a shot but if the pens don't even think he's healthy enough to be on the ice for every practice, I find it hard to think that he would be able to perform in game action... if he would take a 2-way deal and play like 15 games in WBS I think that would be the best eye test...
on moving Nieto, he hasn't looked right all year, I'd argue he's just a big an issue with the bottom-6 as Carter, who's looked fine the last little bit, a little jump in his step... so I'm fine with that... Zohorna I'm done with he needs to be sent down... we have better options than him no doubt...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vbolshakov</b></div><div>Overpaid a lot! In current situation Pens should keep all their peaks.
And what will this change bring? What do you want to improve?</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TySmith4Norris</b></div><div>3C upgrade... is Hayes that bad now? Looks like he's on a 40ish point pace</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vbolshakov</b></div><div>- 3C upgrade is a great option for a contender. Pens should face the truth that a Wild Card spot is a maximum we can get. And we should start thinking about the future (aka rebuilding).
- 3C gets 40+ points only by playing PP. Pens are the most disappointing with PP this year. Slow Hayes can take a spot in front of goalies but will not help much.
- Blues paid 7th to take Hayes with 50% retention after his 50+ points season. You offer a way too much.
- Hayes is a good player but he is not known to be a leader, he will not improve the team's morale and motivation.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PenGoater99</b></div><div>Not against this logic, but I really think Hayes can be had for less.</div></div>

1. don't think he's worth that much.
2. i'd rather the penguins test the market in the summer for another center that's a bit younger.</div></div>

so many better option for depth in the bottom-6 than a slow guy we don't need taking up $3M+ on the cap for 3 more years... acquiring him would be worse than the Jeff Carter extension everybody is still mad about...
and besides, eller has been fine as a 3C...
