Wings additions are impressive
Also, Isn't Maxime Comtois part of the Team Canada sexual assault case? They still haven't revealed the names but I think (I do not know - just deducing) Formington and Comtois were two of the 4 or 5 players in the room.
Meaning, Comtois is likely not a guy you will be signing to your team.

That is a big price for Rasmussen. Matta is a throw in, Fabbri is fine but not a difference maker and not what the Leafs need.

Poor Jarncrok. Going back to where he played his worst hockey. Also why is everyone so quick to ship him out? He is a great player at his cap hit and is one of the few Leafs I wouldn't think about moving on from.

Nylander
Disagree. I think this would be hard for the Isles to agree to. If the Leafs don't want to pay Nylander $10M (which they should absolutely NOT do) he doesn't have much value to them. Dobson I think would be a great fit on the Leafs. The type of player they need. Timmons goes to NYI just to fill out the D for the Isles but doesn't really matter. Nylander retained evens out the cap for this season and increases the value for the Isles to help get them to part with a great young D.
As for the Isles side, having Barzal and Nylander for the next 6-8 years would be dynamite! Those two would make magic.

???, Kampf?? I didn't notice that myself. I don't watch every game but I see the recaps of each and watch about half. Kampf seemed like the perfect 4C that can kill penalties and move up to 3C on occasion with the right wingers. I think he is a great player on the team.

I think he does. I like Kampf, but not at 2.4M. I think a flat 2M would have been ok. But then again, with the cap rising it will look better if he improves, even marginally.
All I see when I look at this roster is a giant $4.15M RD that I want to get rid off immediately.

Domi is getting more than $3.5M also, not sure on the Bertuzzi number but I'd be willing to give him a bit more. They are both gamers. I'd be fine with the Leafs getting one of them. Everything comes back to Klingberg for me. It makes ZERO sense to me. He doesn't fill a need.

Matt Dumba at $2M? He just came off $6M... also, far better than Klingberg so at least 6 if not 7 for him.

Comtois is part of the group sexual assault scandal. Just like Formington. He won't be signed by anyone until the results of that are published. I think he and Formington and Hart are 3 that are all but confirmed to be involved.

Remember the Preds suck. Also, they have a quality goalie prospect coming that will be ready in a season or two. Or throw in RFA rights for Samsonov too.

Yes, negative asset for sure. He was when the Leafs got him along with a 3rd and 7th. You said he is a corpse and I am giving you reasons a team may not be so hasty to dismiss acquiring him, as he is most definitely not a corpse. But I don't give a ****.

Murray is a corpse. Detroit is not taking his contract off Toronto's books unless they pay us a 1st with nothing going back.</div></div>
Haha, no, he is still a very good goalie and he showed it once again. Problem is his body won't let him do it very long. I would assume he moves to a team that can take advantage of the fact that his contract is insured in the event of LTIR placement. Ultimately they either get real money savings for a season or he plays and they get decent goaltending and can flip him come deadline. When he isn't injured he is an NHL quality goaltender.

Willy Styles The Sacrificial Lamb NUFD 6969
Bunting being a top line LW has failed 2x. If you resign him it is to be a great 3rd line LW that can log some top line minutes when needed. Knies grabbed hold of that 1st LW spot until Bennet slammed his head into the ice, which is completely legal in case you were wondering.

Where do you think are likely landing spots? I thought the trade made a lot of sense for NYR. Nylander is better than either of those two players will ever be and is on a bargain deal for another year.

Teows chemsitry with Makar makes him untouchable I think. He has been great and is on a great contract too. Not only that but when healthy, not sure where Nylander fits in Colorado. I think if he is moved it is likely to the flames who are desperate for a shooter.

While I agree 'TK' is worth more than that keep in mind that McCabe is a bargain at $2M for two more years. That said, Phili isn't really in a position to take advantage of that fact so more likely if you move McCabe it is to a contender for good draft capital which can then be packaged with Robertson for 'TK'.
McCabe is a good NHL defenseman.

Pain
The buyout on Murray's contract is sub a million this season and 2 million next. I would so much rather do the buyout than trade assets away. The Leafs got a 3rd and a 7th for taking two years at his $#. They shouldn't pay anything more than that to rid themselves of one year. Keep in mind, when he plays, still a good goaltender. Likely the contract is insured for those LTIR times. AND his buyout is quite friendly. It shouldn't take much to move on from him.
And just a point of contention; Toronto doesn't miss 3rd line scoring, they miss top 6 scoring. The big guys continue to not show up or get shut down, whether by the different 'playoff' rules or by their own selves, I don't know.

If that trade doesn't make sense to the Canucks management then they should all be fired. That is an absolute fleecing.

Nah, Bertuzzi is a loser. Don't want that poison even if he is a good plyr. I have to think O'Rielly will want more or at least the same as prev contract. He is still a great player. How do you release Acciari also, guy has been excellent.
