Yes and Crosby line was having is fair share of defensive assignment. Now they can gave Crosby and Malkin more offensive starts. They can also send that third line out without having to always put them in a advantageous confrontation.

Yeah yeah bla bla bla i just prove to you that team trade for aging defenseman and that they are willing to pay but you still don’t want to accept that you don’t know a ****ing thing about whatvyou are talking about. The fact that you don’t like Petry doesn’t mean he isn’t worth a first round pick. Any one who barely know about hockey would know that Petry is worth that pick and would argue about it. A mid to late first round for a defenseman who can play over 24 minutes a night, who score 10 or more goals, 40+ points and who is extremely physical team on a very great deal team would literally goes nut if he would be available

In’ try to use your brain before making dumb comment about Petry. He is a primary assets and any team that would be in need of a right imha ded defenseman would gave a mid to late first round to acquire a defenseman of that caliber. A 32 years old Justin Braun landed a second round pick (41th) and a third round pick and he isn’t close to the level of Petry and he was traded in the offseason.

Petry would probably the first defenseman on at least 10 team and would be a number 2 on probably 20 team. He have outstanding possession number, play big minutes, he play a very physical game and put point on board regularly. Everything a team would ask from a defenseman. He is only 32 and he have still 3or 4 more year of very good hockey to gave so yes he is worth That Kind of return since defenseman of that size and skill are almost never available.
In the past 3 years he rank in the top 30 around the league in almost every offensive category, for hit and he is one of the best for puck possession.

Yeah not perfect but with their current cap situation that would be a solid line up. They would have a very strong centerline again just like when they had Bonino and Cullen on those cup run.

A easy yes ?? A lottery pick for a late first round pick and some random later round pick not a chance Montrea would accept that. That would have been completely stupid. You don’t trade away a top 10 pick to move over 25th overall.

You don’t quite realize that if Tamapa would absolutely need to move out salary they can put him on the waivers and Johnson would have absolutely nothing to do against it. I doubt that is wife will choose syracuse over any other Nhl city. If Julien Brisebois come to Johnson and told him he must make room on the cao and he need to be move Johnson will summit a mist of team. At least if he accept to be moved he will have the luxury to choose is destination. A Ntc have not much impact but limit the trade destination.

I traded for Gallagher and Petry in the prior Agm and if i want i can resign them to a extension. I any case you just arguing for absolutely nothing since everything have been done in a legal way

Gallagher will not get to FA he is the Heart and soul of the Habs he will be the next captain. IF Gally was to be enticed to leave it would take a much higher number as it is expected he will get 6-6.5 from the Habs so your going to be looking at 7+ minimum. Petry would only cost about 5-5.5 Mil on a 4 year deal, so you over paid him.</div></div>
Petry will cost at least 6 millions. A 40 point defenseman who can play big minutes, he will get paid

A thirty goal scorer with is work ethic. If he is made available the 20+ team that will be in playoff contender will want him. There will be a team that will paid that price. If Colorado acquire him and win a cup by guving a primary young prospect they would win that trade all day. Just like they Trade away for a old Ray Bourque. When you have a competing team you must take your chance. Colorado must take advantage of their current cap situation because in 3 season they will have a hard time fitting everyone under the cap and still get that extra depth that they currently have.
