I don't think the Canucks move Gaudette for a pick. If they move him its for a similar forward or a defenseman who meets our needs.

Unlocking the value of Bear
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PhatRas</b></div><div>Did his development spike? I thought last year he looked like he was taking over that blue line for the Oilers.</div></div>
right now edmonton has one too many RD. They badly need puck transporters so I am choosing to keep Barrie because his skating is superior to Bear's. Adam Larsson because he is a tough net front defender and you need those guys for things like penalty kills. Evan Bouchard will also be a better player long term than bear so its a tough decision but I'm trading bear because right now Bouchard is sitting on the bench and he needs to play.

You can literally go through a list over the last couple years every 60 days with Leafs fans of who they want to jettison; right now it's Kerfoot. In the past two years the cycles have included Nylander, Dermott, Barrie, Kerfoot, Johnsson, Kappenen, Andersen. If a player isn't playing well for a stretch of 5 to 10 games, off with their heads on CF :)

Sutters Line Up
I like this. I like Jensen a lot, and he's having a good year, just playing quietly well in his own zone, in the minutes he gets. Bennett isn't having an awesome year, yet, but he can fill in anywhere in the bottom nine if the Caps get injuries, and he gives them a fifth veteran center they can shuffle around the lineup. Just seems like a good utility pickup for the Caps this year. He's in that awkward position Burakovsky was in when the Caps tried to trade him forever, where he might not get his Q.O., but I think throwing in a third makes a very fair offer for Nick Jensen, because Bennett is the type of player I've been saying the Caps should look to rent at the deadline this year, and they do have a lot of depth on defense, to deal from. Then if he decides to stick around at a number that works for the club, it's a bonus. If not, he can always sign back in Calgary.

Yeah, this is just a mock trade, I think Eichel is overvalued, amazing player, I don't think your giving up your top 1-3 picks for him.

What the Price Tag
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PhatRas</b></div><div>Let’s just consider his first two seasons and that this nearly point per game season is an outlier. Still a half point per game guy, Dube is about 0.31 over his career in 30 ish less games than Garlands first two years combined. He plays a natural position the Flames need more, he’s two years older but still an RFA, significantly better career numbers including junior and the AHL, plays special teams and kinda does it all for the Coyotes right now.
Dube is a ton of fun to watch and an easy guy to root for, good potential but clearly doesn’t fit the top end talent and fire power role the Flames are lacking</div></div>
As someone who has seen him all too often, let me just add that he's almost as abrasive as Matthew Tkachuk, which, I hate to admit, is worth something. Also, it's my subjective opinion that he seems to draw a lot of penalties, many of which aren't actual infractions. Maybe he models his game on Brad Marchand. I'd love to have him on one of my two crummy local teams.

Yes, there are absolutely, 100% issues. If it's because the the leadership group is told Tkachuk to dial it back, it's a bad look.

Just because he plays the top minutes does not make him a top D man. I'm not sure what I said that has just caused you to go sideways but take a breath, it will all be okay.
Even with the offensive fire power the Oilers have, when Nurse is on the ice the other team controls the puck significantly more in every year he has played. All of his advanced stats in every season except this one have been really poor, his Corsi barely creeped over 50% for the first time this year, he's not good analytically and his points mask that. The eye test he is flashy but out of position all the time, it's why some fans want to pay him 7 million dollars and any front office in hockey would be hesitant.</div></div>
First 7 games vs last 10 games are a far different story. Before the advanced analytics were good and the eye test said he was a plug. Now the advanced stats are bad and the eye test doesn't mean anything. I'm hearing both sides argue opposite points depending on the person they are arguing with. The fact of the matter is the majority of the goals scored on the Oilers are because the defence plays somebody too soft in front of the net I don't see that happening with nurse.

I for one wouldn’t be, but it’s probably gonna happen since the oilers love Nurse. He’s a second pair defence man. He’s not even as good as Morrissey, and Brodin! Shouldn’t get more than them. Morrissey is getting 6.25M, and Brodin just got 6M. He should be asking in a range of 5-5.5M honestly, but for obvious reasons he won’t.

What is the Price For Braanstrom or White
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PhatRas</b></div><div>Fair, I guess a better question would be where does Colin White fit going forward? Is he a 2C? Does he go to the wing maybe? It seems like with Stutzle, Norris, Brown, Batherson, Tierney all able to play C there are a lot of bodies at the position. Where would White rank as a C among those guys?</div></div>
Colin White will be needed for another season or two. His value is like Tierney, they will only trade him if they are getting a good upgrade somewhere else, because he's needed. SO guys like White or Tierney will be overpriced for now, and not good trade targets. They were both being offered up for defencemen, because the defence was so bad, but the defence has improved dramatically, so they are both off the trade market.
Brannstrom doesn't get a lot of respect because of his size, but he may be the best young offensive defenceman of the 2017 & 2018 drafts not named Hughes or Makar. He's not at their level, they were 4th and 7th overall picks, but he's definitely going to turn some heads in the near future, and should be a consistent 50+ point defender for most of his career.

I really don't think Ottawa should trade either player. Brannstrom looks ready for the show this year, and he's going to completely change the way this team plays once he really starts to grow into his role. He isn't going anywhere. White is also looking like a piece who is definitely a part of their future. His production hasn't quite been there, but he's been one of Ottawa's best players.

he probably slides in as a middle 6 c for the next little bit, he might become available in the future if tim has a nice transition to centre, and pinto and norris turn out to be better than him, but as of now id say hes been our best centre so im not sure the sens would move him

Boyd and Bennett are both 4th line players.... Boyd has way less cap. i think Boyd is the better player. mad the capitals let him go. Also i think Holl is the Leafs best Dman at the moment. Obviously MR is normally but thus far Holl has been the best
