Yeah true I was just looking for some more depth

Would you think it be a better and more evenly matched trade without the second?
I guess so but it depends on how Timmins plays

Vegas is just the better squad smh
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMAvsFan</b></div><div>They seem like pretty evenly matched teams at this point but if you look at the underlying stats, the Avs are the better team overall. They can't expect Fluery to play that way all the time but the Avs can't allow plays like that to happen. Aside from that 2nd goal, which was an unfortunate bounce (although it was created by a good chance), they just had some lapses that lead to good chances. It's still early in the season, there is a lot of hockey to play and these teams play four more. I fully expect to see these teams in the divisional final.</div></div>
Yes, but the excuse of “it being early in the season” it’s nearing its end of its use, imo. We are 15 games through a 56 game season so yes it’s still kind of early but now is really when we see what teams are really going to look like.

TDL going for it all
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Richard88</b></div><div>This isn't going all-in, not even close.
Going all-in entails putting all the trade chips on the table including the 1st and some good prospects to acquire impact players for the playoffs. A bunch of 4th liners and a 2nd round pick in return is hardly what you'd call impact players.</div></div>
That is true, a valid argument for sure. But for what the Avalanche look like their gonna do this TDL this would be the all in version. What I’m saying is compared to what the Avalanche are lining up to this would be the all in side.
And ofc I don’t know what their gonna do, but I’m estimating their gonna to have a smaller TDL.

I would like if the Avalanche did this however I don’t think Anaheim takes the bait and accepts this. Henrique is the better player overall. But I can’t speak for any Ducks fans or their organization.

Well here we are again, me overreacted again lol.
The one time we will know which team is better is in the playoffs but I think right now Vegas is better because of the playoff experience the grit, the size, and the defense and goaltending. Especially goaltending.
All qualities of a Stanley cup caliber team...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Vegasloveforthebills</b></div><div>It was a great 4 game series. Fluery just plays well with a chip on his shoulder.
In my opinion, the best thing to happen to him was the trade/signing of Lehner.
He needed that edge again.</div></div>
True, that is one way to look at it. Tbh it puts a chip on both goalies shoulders. Vegas wants them to compete and I think they are getting exactly what they wanted. (Minus Lehners absence)

Saw this proposed on hfboards by a Flames fan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Richard88</b></div><div>How so?
The trade breaks down as:
Compher for Bennett
and
Elite 3C at near $4m AAV (due to retention) for late 1st + Timmins.
Avs solve their biggest need (3C) and also pick up a guy who brings physicality like no one else in the playoffs from the 4th line. All for the cost of Compher (a near capdump), a late 1st, and a RHD who is a bit redundant anyways given our top 4 and Barron/Helleson in the pipeline.
Maybe 1st AND Timmins is a bit overkill, but I'd gladly pay a little extra to ensure that we get some serious retention on Backlund.</div></div>
Not all of it I hate, it’s giving up a 1st and Timmins mostly Timmins tho. I think he could have a big role on this blue line in a couple years

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Richard88</b></div><div>What is it about the trade you don't like?
Backlund is a very good 3C putting up numbers comparable to Danault defensively along with 5 straight 45 point seasons. Pretty much exactly what the Avs need.
His age and term on the contract aren't ideal, but manageable if you add some retention to the trade.</div></div>
My problem is what the Avalanche are giving up not necessary what they are getting back.

I don’t really like this trade for the avs, understandable why a flames fan wants this, it’s definitely a better trade for the flames.

Beefing up at the TDL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sqm918</b></div><div>All good man. Jankowski was solid the first few games of the season, but has been pretty terrible since haha. I like Lafferty and he isn’t terrible, but he still has stuff to learn plus Sullivan isn’t giving him the best chances to succeed. Lafferty+ 3rd round pick for Compher seems about fair.</div></div>
Yeah. Another question: Do you think compher would be better in Pittsburgh?

From the impression I have had I thought that Lafferty has been good for the limited time he has had and Jankowski has been very solid for the pens. However, I have only watched a number of pens game so I definitely could be incorrect.

Couple things:
I think OVI stays with the caps or retires as a cap
And Gusev would have to be a third liner on the Avalanche, and therefor he would have to take a pay cut, which is something I don’t think he would want to do.
