You think this is an overpay on Rangers side or a pretty fair deal? In all honesty I don't know too much about Miller but I feel like he would be a pretty solid bottom pairing d man.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dh91</b></div><div>"Contenders"</div></div>
They had one of the best groups of forwards in the league last year. They get the same exact lineup in terms of forwards. Their defense was holding them back and was the clear problem last year. Getting rid of Holden, Klein, G, and Staal and adding Shattenkirk, Miller, One of the rookies, and resigning Smith drastically changes their d corps. If they do something similar this off season they will easily be a contender....

+1, Stepan is too old to help us with the rebuild; we need a young 1C & 1D.
If you want pick #9 from DET, you're looking at something closer to Skjei and a late 1st round pick. You pick #21, so maybe we'd even it with your 3rd in exchange (DET 1st, +NYR 3rd = Skjei + NYR 1st). But that doesn't rid you of Stepan's cap.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mikearky</b></div><div>Detroit does not need another high priced center on the down side of his career, we have that covered. We need young D who can make a tape to tape pass and skate. Green is the only D-man the Wings have that can do both. Dekeyser can not skate or pass, Kronwall, bless him, can not skate, Ericcsson, well, enough said, Jensen can skate and pass but not very well, and he rest well, they are not good.Sephan was a salary dump and you get a high 1st round pick, no thank you.</div></div>
I find it hilarious how you guys think Stepan is old and on the downside of his career. He is 26 years old and a solid borderline 1st line probably better suited 2nd liner who consistently puts up 55 points. Also a very good two center. Many Ranger fans are overreacting after his postseason this year. You don't find centers like Stepan off trees. I really hope they don't trade him unless it's an insane offer

Trade Klein because he simply isn't good anymore and Clendening is better. I think with the market being so crazy they should have at the very least see what they could have got for Holden and Grabner. Holden is on a good contract but isn't that good and the offense in the beginning of the season could have improved his value. I think they should consider selling him in the summer depending on what they can get. In regards to Grabner, he's pointless in the last 7 games and is riding a crazy unsustainable 19% shooting percentage.I love Grabner but how do we know he is doing this next year. If they could've gotten a right handed defenseman, 1st rounder, or top prospect for him I would have been down.

I would really love to see this happen at the deadline. The only thing is that you know that there is no chance Girardi is being scratched. It would probably be Staal-Smith Skjei-G. TBH Girardi hasn't been playing that bad and I don't think he would be that bad playing third pairing minutes with Skjei who is a beast.

I could see Benning having interest in Nash if Rick was willing to come to Van. What do you think a package from the Canucks would look like for him?</i></div></div>
They'd have to send a player like Burrows/Sbisa back and then throw in a prospect and a pick. Some thing along the lines of a Boeser, 2nd round pick and Burrows/Sbisa. To improve the deal for NYR, they could retain some salary. Depending on how much will determine the extra added by Vancouver.</i></div></div>
Yeah, I kind of figured about the same type of deal, although I wouldn't want Van to give up Boeser. That could end up looking like an Erat for Forsberg deal a few years down the road (not saying Boeser is going to be Forsberg good, just that it could be quite lopsided).
I was thinking something like Hansen (AV loves him), a 2nd, and one or two prospects that aren't of Boeser's calibre. I know the Rags will probably want the moon for Nash, but the reality is that he's on the decline with a big cap hit, so I'll be curious to see what the return is if he does get moved.</i></div></div> Coming from a Ranger fan I have heard great things about Tanev..... Would love to see the Rangers get him. What would be the price from a Canucks fan?

Would love to get Vesey but I doubt he comes here. If there is one move left we better hope it is something revolving around the defense because they are clearly the problem on this team. <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JFo</b></div><div><i>Should be happy. My prediction is Kreider get about 4.25m-5m for 5 years and Hayes most likely getting bridged for like 2 years 2.25m. But this trade could also signify more moves are coming hopefully to the defense.

Really wish that Nash trade somehow gets done. Shattenkirk is exactly what we need. A #1 Right handed defenseman who can quarterback the power play. I do think a Staal trade is possible with retained salary. Also Hayes will get around 2-2.5m for 2 years and Kreider around 4.5m for 5. I like what your thinking though.

He is one of the best two way players in the league. One season removed from 42 goals. All you people that think he is a bad player and "doesn't show up when needed" are simply stupid. Nash is still one of the best power forwards in the league that is consistent in all zones. You're a leafs fan so clearly you know nothing about him. Just because he is in trades on a website doesn't mean he sucks. The main reason he is in so many trade threads is because the Rangers need cap space to sign RFAs and he would be a player that could get them back some of the picks/prospects they have traded away the past couple of years while clearing needed space.
