Cool and all, but the caps can't retain anymore players until after the draft

As a Sharks fan I like these sort of deals for them. Full out roster and get more draft capital.
Maybe a change of scenery would help Mikheyev?

Had Aman in originally but swapped Mikheyev back in. Either one can play just not in the top 6

You guys are probably right. But I still think there is a chance CHI would take Tavares for FC's as long as it is after his bonus is paid.

Pick your bags Knoblauch
Capfriendly has included the overages so we dont need to create them anymore.
Honestly I think Pickard is the right choice tonight, win or lose.
Skinner needs a reset cause he hasn't been good this series, if the Pickard start backfires than we play him game 5 and try to win 3 straight.
If Pickard works than no one's gunna complain, if it doesn't than we're in the same hole we started in.

Like your analysis. Hey since the Canucks aren't using Demko, maybe the Canucks can loan Demko to the Oilers for conditioning purposes.

Oilers just can't/won't solve their goaltending. 😬
Knoblauch better buy one of those big sheds they sell at Costco.
He may need it to hide from the angry wrath of Oilers Nation. 😲

Wilson meet Petey
In theory, I like this concept (perhaps not the contract). The idea of giving Petey a line mate that can provide some cover may allow him to "play bigger" and with a bit more confidence with others take less liberties. The players I had in mind was: Crouse, Anderson (if Montreal eats a bit), Duhaime (skates well, hits and fights/although not perhaps the best fighter) and Jeannot (perhaps Tampa might trade him for the CAP space). There are probably other big bodies that fits the bill.

I think the Leafs make that trade. You have shown the cap works. I guess the stumbling block will be finding a taker for M NTC Mikheyev.

Jimbo Wants Marner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kingkanuck</b></div><div>Hronek is far more important to the Canucks than Marner ever would be. A quality RHD is hard to find and the I really doubt that Canucks management would rather pay more for a RW.
<strong>Marner is worth $11MM ONLY to to the Leafs. </strong>
The Canucks are paying their 100 point player (Miller) $8MM/yr. That is the ABSOLUTE maximum Marner is worth.</div></div>
That's not true. Yes, no one but the Leafs would have signed him to this contract as an RFA, but there would be multiple teams that would offer him an 8 figure salary as a UFA. So, currently, he is worth 10.9M, the only issue is do you really want to give him a raise? Maybe not, when it will cost you a fortune to re-sign Hughes., but you don't have to worry about that until 3-years from now. 8M for a 100-pt player is more than a bargain.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Prime_Jimbo</b></div><div>Not worth it. We saw Hughes get Schenn paid and he'd still be a Norris candidate with a literal pylon paired with him.</div></div>
So basically, you don't want to pay him because he's not helping Hughes and he's not a fit on the 2nd pairing either/rather have a twin-tower shutdown pair.

Why play a lesser Dakota with JT? There might be some teams looking to shed cap such as Calgary (Bread man), Isles (Nelson), Flyers (Farabee). Just some ideas as I struggle with Greenway for a 2nd and top 6 role.</div></div>
Agreed, there are better options out there, and a 2nd might be too much to pay. I was looking at it as adding a physical guy in that salary range with only 1 year left on his deal to provide some flexibility for the following season. Could absolutely swap Joshua and Greenway on the lines there.

I can't see the Caps giving up a mid first rounder ++ for a defenseman who would be forced to play second pairing time because Carlson is still around. Even then he would be 30 by the time Carlson retired and he was stepping into the top pairing. We would be better off getting good prospects that can grow while we run with this older roster

At this point, that Mikheyev trade just needs to be posted permanently on all Canucks ACGM's. It's just automatically added when a new post is started. Hawks probably accept.

Based on articles, sounds like Grier and Sharks management love Kunin and want to bring him back on a multi-year contract despite his $3M QO. I don't get it. I'm not a big Kunin fan.
