There is no world where Elvis is worth LA spending that much in assets. Especially when Lindgren could be had for much cheaper from Washington.

TDL and next year
"Turcotte can't seem to crack the Kings lineup."
False. He started on the Kings top line with Kopitar and Byfield as recently as the last game against Vancouver. And looked good there doing it.
I'll grant you that there's a bit of a roster squeeze when healthy, but this season has never been about Turc being on the roster full time. It's been about him staying healthy and playing a lot of hockey, which he can do better on the Reign. But next year Lizotte and Grundstrom likely won't return, and the Kings will decide what to do with Jaret Anderson-Dolan, so there's a few open roster spots on the Kings. I fully expect Alex to be a full-time NHL'er in 24-25. (Probably along with Akil Thomas as well)

Trade with Kings

I mean, that last sentence I fully agree with.
Arvidsson won't be brought back, Kopi's cap drops 4mil, and the cap is rising almost 5 mil. Thats 13mil in space right there. Add Lizotte not likely being brought back and thats even more space.
It'll be tight but let's not act like Kaliyev and Grundstrom are going to demand any large raise. If they do, they're replaceable with Reign players close to the NHL.
Byfield and Roy are the two biggest pieces of business, followed by a better goalie (who will likely be backed up by Rittich at a close to league minimum deal). Outside of that, the roster is mainly set. The crunch will be if Byfield goes 8mil+. However if he bridges, there should be nearly no cap issues to resign Roy and a goalie for a total 8 ish mil.
As a Toronto fan, I'd think you would be used to a team finding its way out of cap binds to sign their most important players.

Trade with Kings

It's more an exhaustion of Leafs fans continuously treating the Kings/other teams as their farm teams. Under valued, over posted trades that consistently get told reasons why they're not reasonable, yet continue to post.
So while they are more than able to keep posting as much as they want, we're exhausted of posting the same reasons over and over. Hence:
Kings. Are. Not. Trading. Matt Roy.

Kings are not trading Roy. They'll get a playoff run with him. If they lose him in UFA so be it, but they're going to make every effort to re-sign him.

He's in the same boat as Turcotte, though he's been healthier for longer. Still needs to up his value by actually playing and prove he can stay healthy. I get it. But it's not someone I want the Kings to take a chance on just yet.

5 acceptable ways in which the Kings can pay for Tarasenko
Looking at the other 4 options, the only one I really think could be a legitimate ask might be the Kaliyev+2nd. The others are just too much given where the Kings are at.
Speaking to Tarasenko's value, he's now a 32 year old UFA. The season before he was traded to New York, he was a PPG, but has now put up 2 straight seasons of being on pace for less than 50 points. He's not going to bring back the same return that New York gave (which also included retention AND a very good Niko Mikkola, so take your expectations another two notches down)
Numbers 1 and 2: I would think any first round pick would be heavily reliant on conditions, so think "2nd rounder that could be a 1st rounder if the Kings make the 3rd round of the playoffs". Although, would I be surprised if Blake panicked since his job is in such jeopardy? Nope.
Number 3: The Kings have a history of trying not to trade consecutive years of 1st and 2nd rounders. There's a little bit of counter argument to that with the 2022/2023 1st rounders, but LA does like to keep a stock of picks.
Number 4: Maybe.
Number 5: Hahahahahahahahahahaha. Lol! Guy throws out "Brandt Clarke" and expects to be taken seriously. That's like saying if the Kings were possibly trading Victor Arvidsson the ask would be Sanderson.

Trade Roy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AirmanSD</b></div><div>I think your asks are a little steep here. I have to think that it would cost around the same as Hronek did last year a 1st and a 2nd. And he had an extra year of control with it ending in RFA instead of UFA.</div></div>
Hronek has been really good this year, but he did not have the same value he would NOW at last year's deadline. He was on a bad team and okay. Not great. I think Roy is in a tier above that based off of known play. You do make a good point about RFA/UFA status, though. If there's a trade, I'd have to imagine it's to a team that has a significant chance of re-signing.

Drafting Tij Iginla Adam Jiricek signing Graf adding goalie
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>2022-24 AHL
Clarke: 111gp, 46g, 55a, 101pts (0.91 ppg)
Turcotte: 64gp, 13g, 28a, 41pts (0.64 ppg)
Not sure I’d say straight downgrade…I think Clarke has had a little more success at AHL level offensively. Both same size and age. Both great skaters, Clarke plays well in tight to net, gets high shot volume, Turcotte better defensively and in open ice. Turcotte plays center, Clarke mostly RW. Pretty close actually.</div></div>
When looking at Turcotte, it's much more about looking at his stats this year than previous years, which were constantly interrupted by concussions.
I personally am just not interested in a swap, despite the brother's story in Clarke. I'd rather give Turcotte a chance to become the 3C/2LW that I hope he can be. I'd say no if I was LA's GM.

Can't see any interest there from LA. Clarke is a straight downgrade from Turcotte and there isn't enough upside in Foote to come close to making up the difference.

No, the Kings aren't going to give their best defensive player up for futures when they're in the middle of battling for a playoff spot the year they made their all-in trade.
