He's the best dman available so its going to be a bidding war for him. Maybe better of as 1for1 but I just added the 3rd as sweetener. There have been talks of FLA using Lundell as a trading asset because they dont really have picks nor interesting prospects and they might not afford to extend him after his ELC expires at the end of the season.

Well maybe dominated was an overstatement but leafs were the easier team for panthers. Canes had almost double of the puck posession in their series against panthers and with leafs it was more like 50/50.

Canes were the better team whole series but just couldnt score on godmode bob. Leafs got dominated by panthers…

It not a conversation from 2019. To win a cup your team needs a defense that is as good as Vegas, Colorado and Tampa had with their cup winning teams. Leafs dont have that…

They were lucky to get past the 1st round and they wouldnt have stood a chance against canes. Depth and defense is still an issue and thats because they are spending 33mil on 3players that can be shutdown in the playoffs

Yes it is. Take a look at recent stanley cup winners defense and tell me with a straight face that Toronto’s defense is as good. They aint gonna win a cup with that defense period

Proven 100 point guy on a contending team for players who only offer potential down the road. Foolish trade for Leafs.</div></div>
They could use the cap space tho

I agree they should get a forward upgrade but it should be a centre. Or a winger making less cap. 2 years of Marner and to pay all of that doesn't seem wise for Columbus to do based on where they are at in their building process.</div></div>
Laine and Gaudreau are both better of on LW and they have their future top6 centers (Johnson and Carlsson/Fantilli) so I dont really see the point on getting a center + atm there isnt really centers that would fit in CBJ on the market

I didn’t want to have 3 left handed and 3 right handed guys on the same line.
Not sure what Forsbeg’s value is, but he is apparently available and I’d say that the Canes would have the needed assets to acquire him if they wanted to, no matter what the asking price is.

With buying him out theres also the possibility of signing him back at league minimum and keeping him on the 2nd or 4th line RW

Moving Gudas is also an option but trading Weegar could be the right thing to do as they propably cant afford his extension.
