Last legs or Stanley Cup
I wouldn't weigh the options as Cup or last legs, the only player in their core who's old is Marchand at 36, Coyle is only 32, Lindholm is next at 30. McAvoy, Pastrnak. Zacha, DeBrusk(?), Carlo, Lohrei, Beecher, Poitras and most importantly Swayman, are all in their 20s with Pastrnak the oldest at 28. They're the 15th youngest team, so almost dead center across the league.

Jesus, better off dismantling the team and tanking than do this.

Three Way Deal

I want the Bruins to remain a defensive minded team, but they also need to be able to score goals. I would take DeBrusk at $5-6M over Lindholm at $7-8M and have the cap to resign Heinen. So DeBrusk and Heinen together > Lindholm for me.</div></div>
Debrusk is worth 4mil and not 6mil, if he wants that much we need to let him walk. Lindholm at 7mil would be leagues better and he's proven to be a quality 2 way center, and can play really well with or without great linemates. Debrusk needs a good linemate to produce so I don't consider him a true top-6 forward.

I think you are looking at 5.5 to 6.5M for DeBrusk and 7.5 - 8.5M for Lindholm.
I prefer Lindholm, but I want a center adjustment.

Canes pass. Kochetkov is more valuable than Ullmark right now, similar stats, but Kochetkov is 7 years younger on a better contract with more term. Necas a 4th and a 6th for Merkulov a 3rd and a 4th is just comical. No

His 15 team NTL pretty much would leave places with goalies locked in to contracts or competition. I'm okay with keeping him but I think both parties "win" in this deal of Necas moving on and getting something in return for Ullmark. Kochetkov is no slouch in goal either.

Could see this type of offseason coming to fruition
Lindholm seems inevitable, Dillon for 3rd pairing toughness, and keeping Maroon for cheap as a 13th forward
I think the Ullmark and Ehlers deals are pretty accurate too, although Ehlers would have to extend for that price
Not personally a huge fan of signing Lindholm until hes 36 (hes not a 1C), or Maroon (he provides little to no value in game)
but this is certainly a realistic route

Bostons Back
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>skids925</b></div><div>What would Bcarlo25 do for the 1C position?</div></div>
I would take a run at Lindholm if the price is reasonable. If that doesn't work, I would take a look at Stephenson if the market doesn't blow up for him. If those guys aren't available, I would stand pat. Getting Poitras back should help, and I think having your four centers be Coyle, Poitras, Geekie, and Beecher (Zacha shifting to the wing), with Zacha and Frederic as the guys to step in for injury is better than either overpaying for a guy, or trying to pick up a winger to play center.
That doesn't work for bruins hockey.

his contract is structured so that a buyout is basically impossible. with his injury history, age, term, and the fact that he was just health bombed, he's negative value.

Going rate for a guy like Ehlers is a roster player and a mid round pick (see Toffoli for Sherangovic and a 3rd last offseason). A top prospect (granted, in a terrible Bruins system) and a 1st is more than enough.
I would love to trade for Ehlers if the price is right, and that means not moving a 1st round pick, even if we do recoup one via trade elsewhere. We probably get outbid for that reason.

Remove Lysell and the 1st and add Zacha + retain on Ullmark, we could toss you Kulak since your LHD is a little weak and then the cap works better too.
That's the direction I would take it from EDM's POV but honestly I doubt a trade like this would ever work out.

Well that's what the actual cost would be, he's one of the best players in the world. If Pastrnak or McAvoy were expiring next year (both of which are actually less valuable than Draisaitl), would you be content with Sweeney trading them for a 1st, 2nd, 4th, AHL tweener, UFA rights to a middle 6 winger, and Poitras?

If the Chychrun trade happens, the Sens aren't getting both a 1st Round Pick and the AHL Player of the Year. That's far too steep a price for a guy that the Sens won't be re-signing when his contract expires next offseason. Make it a 2024 1st Round Pick and someone like Gavin White & you're in the ballpark. If Bourque is a must-have in this deal, then the price is going to be too steep for Dallas and they can look for a defenseman on the UFA market that won't cost them any more than the money they're willing to pay.

Ingram is such a bargain, starter going forward, not really on the block, Vejmelka possibly, Utah probably doesn’t move any of there top 6 unless an overpay, and possibly replaced with a ufa. Hayton/vejilmelka possibly on the block for an upgrade or new project backup tender. So many picks in Utah, not really looking for any more picks unless it leads to improving their own or for a blockbuster of some sort. More picks than roster spots going forward.
