Really well thought out.
I know you said any team and I'm sure Oshie's family would love to see him in play for the Kraken, but I don't see how it fits on the roster there as it's their deepest position.

Why Not
Feels like wasted resources. Sign Sprong, or trade for Yamamoto but don't do both. Preferably do neither. You'll either get Sprong back for less as a UFA or you start giving the farm some chances for that 4th line role.
At 3M just bring Soucy back, younger and plays a more defensive style that DH is looking for.

Why because Calgary is not trading their 1C for a winger, especially one that's just as much a rental

More a blindfolded dart throwing thing, if we can move him at half, great! Otherwise, we buy him out. Can do both under this scenario

PLD plus Karlsson
Seattle might be interested in Edmundson as a veteran stopgap to replace Soucy until Ryker Evans is ready, but certainly not at the price of a first or second round pick. If that's what Montreal would want there are cheaper and arguably better alternatives available for the Kraken to pursue. Edmundson's a solid defensive defenseman, but he's also injury-prone and only a year away from free agency; I think the Habs are looking at a mid-round pick at best in return for him.

I think that would be a doable extension for Hellebuyck. I think he'll find the market just won't support the salary he wants. Unless Pittsburgh gets in there and does something desperate.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Quillanrocks</b></div><div>Always enjoy your builds . . . the thought and detail you put into them. Nicely done here, again, and look forward to the next one. Hanifin would be a solid add, though at the expense of Oleksiak would be disappointing.
Now . . . Curious what Flames fans feel sabout the deal. (?) I know they want to add on RW, but is there any hesitancy to trade within the division? and for a RW who has struggled with consistency his entire career and is somewhat one-dimensional at times. (?)</div></div>
To your point here, I don't think the value is off by much but I don't think the Flames would look at a guy like Sprong as they have Dube, Mangiapane, Pelletier, Coronato, Coleman, who all either do or should be putting up similar production next season. The Flames have enough of what Sprong already brings. If they're moving Hanifin I think it will be in a deal that's worked around a more sure thing forward or futures I don't think they're in a spot to take a chance on a guy who hasn't consistently produced throughout his career.

Seattle-Carolina Blockbuster
Interesting blockbuster trade idea. There's a lot of moving parts involved, but purely based on value this seems reasonable. However, I ultimately don't think Seattle would do it. I think they would have interest in upgrading their defense, so pursuing Pesce makes sense on some level. However, I can't see the Kraken giving up McCann to do so. Trading their leading scorer like that would downgrade the offense such that it would cancel out the benefits of adding Pesce. I believe Seattle is more likely to pursue defensive upgrades that don't involve subtracting significant pieces from the current roster.

Realistic Oilers
1.) Keep Foegele.
2.) Seattle has no space for Yamo even if it might be a nice "home-state, feel good" story. They're loaded on the Ws. Most likely scenario seems to be trending towards a buyout.
3.) CHI wouldn't have interest in Ceci and certainly wouldn't pay a 2nd for him. If you want to keep a Ceci trade within the domain of realism that exists on CF, then Ceci to ANA for a 4th typically goes over well with Ducks fans. Some DET fans are open to Ceci, but others are vehemently opposed.
4.) In what world does it make sense to pay to trade Desharnais away? He's on a below league minimum contract; even if you think he's a burden and a waste of a roster spot, just send him to the AHL.

There is always a market for that especially in a year with a barren free agent class and a big need at RHD with Seattle unless they sign Soucy to a higher AAV. A bunch of Kraken fans have already said it's more than reasonable. KrakBirds23 KrakenTheCode </div></div>
After seeing some of the projections for UFA contracts this morning. Soucy for 2x2.75 may be out there which I think the Kraken jump on. It's in their cap realm for the next two years but stone walls some of the prospects. I still think Soucy is a high demand FA but I also think Seattle will be fine if they re-sign the RFA's (Dunn and Borgen).

Because its the canucks
The Kraken aren't going to consider that trade proposal. They have plenty of depth on both wings already and Garland isn't an upgrade on what they already have. He'd be stuck in a bottom six role in Seattle. It makes no sense for the Kraken to trade away Borgen, who is their second pairing RHD, along with a second round pick for an unnecessary winger who wouldn't improve the team in any meaningful way.

Get good assets and figure the rest out later. PLD is a 24 1A/1B C that bridges the gap between our two core groups he's exactly the type of guy we need. Arvy has one year left and is out and Iafallo/Moore are too similar.

I can't see Seattle giving up that much to move up 6 spots. Maybe the first, and the second (Jets) or Geekie's rights. But I think Geekie is back in Seattle for one more run under RF.
I also don't think they move up unless one of the top 3 d-men fall in the draft.

Being creative with trading
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HulkVader</b></div><div>Seattle would quickly accept. Dump a nothing player like Geekie to move up and have a shot at a stud like Matthew Wood? In a heartbeat. You’d be fired as Pens manager for that one, lol.
Edit: Why would Jarry agree to a sign and trade with LA for that amount rather than just go to free agency? A sign and trade works if you’re going to overpay, like Severson. Jarry’s going to figure he could get that much on the market and just go UFA. He declines.</div></div>
That trade is not as much of a slam dunk acceptance from Seattle as you think. Geekie's not a nothing player, he's a young right handed shot center who contributes on both ends and is good in the faceoff circle. He's made constant improvements since arriving in Seattle, and if the Kraken's forward core wasn't so deep would be playing higher in the lineup. I think this trade actually undervalues him a bit, equating his value to a mid-third round pick. Personally I think his trade value is at least a second rounder. Ultimately, any draft trade and whether Seattle or Pittsburgh pulls the trigger will depend on who's on the board at 14, something we won't know until draft day.

Looch is back
Seattle counters with a Calgary's 2024 7th and EDM retains $1M. They don't need another winger, can't see them giving up much more than a 7th for a player that won't be in their top 6. Seattle would take that cap money and re-sign Donato or Sprong rather than give up assets.

Flyers Ideas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Renegade_H</b></div><div>Well said. Is there a contract the Kraken would like to get out of that could facilitate a deal?</div></div>
Seattle has enough cap flexibility that they don't really need to dump a contract. Grubauer and Driedger's deals are probably underwater, but the Kraken are set to roll with Gru as their number one goalie, and he was excellent down the stretch last season. Driedger only has one year left on his contract so the Kraken could just bury him in the AHL as depth if he doesn't secure the backup role.
I think if Seattle targets anyone from Philly, it would be Konecny. He fits the description of a top-line goalscorer that would elevate the team.
