<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SupremeBone</b></div><div>1. The Dobson contract (4mil * 3)
2. Yamamoto is the forward that should go while the Dman depends on who's made available in the offseason (lean towards moving Ceci)
3. McLeod ~2mil for 3 or 4 years and Kostin ~1mil for 1 or 2 years to prove himself
4. Janmark is the easiest to retain at around his current cap hit; would be nice to retain Bjugstad but it'd have to be for pretty cheap
5. Might be some interesting options
6. Broberg and Holloway settled in nicely in the latter half and Lavoie took some big steps in consistency; Bourgault benefits from another year in the AHL</div></div>

1. I would be very cautious of lining up Bouchards contract with McDavids, I've had this debate a few times and if you could go 4 years it puts you past CM97 next deal. But as for a comp its great, I just worry about the timing of it.
2. I wouldn't bet on Yamo being dealt, he seems to be a very popular player in the room and amongst the coaches. That being said I tend to agree with you, especially if the return for him is greater than that of Foegeles. My guess is Kulak being dealt for the simple fact Ceci is Nurse's partner and they seem locked into that pairing. Additionally Kulak occupies what we all assume to be Brobergs spot making him all the more likely to be the cap casualty.
3. My guess is they bridge Mcloed beyond the Neal buyout years. Kostin might be playing on a qualifying offer contract ($787,500 according to CapFriendly Calculator)
4. Thats the thing I wouldn't offer Janmark a raise, I would offer him the same deal hes currently on. Regarding Bjugstad, I'd be willing to go $1.5M 2-3 years. Being a RHC is important to this team.
5. With the cap likley jumping in two seasons EDM should look at guys like Ryan and 35+ players (Perry, Toews, Staal) to build around the edges and carry over their cap hits into 2024
6. The prospect I'm most curious about whether or not he will make an impact in years to come is Noah Philp, Could be that big RHC that replaces Bjugstad in a few seasons. Agreed that broberg, holloway and lavoie took steps and I hope each can be contributing members of the Oil next season. Bourgault will need to make an AHL impact next year before anyone considers him ready.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>You didn't effectively replace Yamamoto or Ceci.

Broberg is already on the roster, Holloway and Lavoie are available already. So you removed a top-6 forward and a 1st pairing defenseman and replaced them with an over-35 13th forward. If you can't see how that's worse then I can't be of much help to you.</div></div>

Ya I don't think you're looking at this with open mind.

- Broberg hasn't played a feature role with the Oilers yet which is where I have elevated him too. It is my belief that he and Kulak can all but replace Ceci's minutes at a cheaper rate.

- Holloway and Lavoie will be featured in the lineup because teams need players on ELC's or sub-million dollar deals to contribute. They will take much of the minutes that Yam was playing at 5v5. The PK minutes will likely fall to Foegele with an outside chance that Holloway sees some.

- Suggesting Ceci is a 1st pair defencemen is a disservice to your argument, same as calling Yamamoto a top-6 forward. Neither player contributes at the level that they too in order to be considered in that light. Furthermore EDM has its 1st pair RHD that they need to prioritize and that is Evan Bouchard. Moving Ceci in order to afford a long term deal for Bouchard makes plenty of sense.

- Suggesting the only replacement is Cogliano is silly, internal development from Broberg, Holloway and Lavoie needs to occur and be encouraged by management.

The way I see it is you are putting no stock in the young players abilities to step up and contribute. Bouchard will continue to take on more and more, Broberg will take a step forward in his development. Holloway and Lavoie need to be afforded the opportunity to contribute.

I don't see the team in a worse position, yes they are down 3 veteran NHLers but not giving the youth an opportunity to play isn't helpful and neither is being short cap that needs to be used in locking up Bouchard long term. But in your own words "If you can't see how that's worse then I can't be of much help to you."

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TraderJoes</b></div><div>Why is Janmark getting so much? You can find 6 goal scorers for a lot less. Interesting that you have him ahead of Kostin, who has been much better.

This looks pretty reasonable though. I do expect Holland to make some larger moves in the summer.</div></div>

Janmark over Kostin is not a personal preference, it is solely based on Woody's deployment. There is definitely a bias there with the coach and the lineup is indicative of that.

As for Major moves, I want to believe that is a possibility however, unless this teams falls flat on its face come playoff time, I don't see major changes coming for a few reasons.
1. Cap constraints: EDM only has $8.5M in cap space to sign 6-8 roster players (21-23 man roster) including key RFA's (Bouchard and McLoed)
2. Ekholm: I have a hunch that Holland had 1 bullet left when it came to making the big acquisition. He has shown in his time here he would prefer to not deal 1st round picks and in moving 2 to get Ekholm I highly doubt we will see another moved before the 2024 TDL.
3. LTIR: with Klefbom and Smiths deal finally off the books EDM will be out of LTIR and therefore will be able to accrue space throughout the year, Major moves would likely bring them right to the cap as big time players often carry big time cap hits. This would limit EDMs deadline space

The way I see it with the group is Holland has his core and complimentary players, he wont look to add another major piece in the offseason. He will likely look to tinker at or near the deadline using his accrued cap space. Furthermore he will give the young guns (Desharnais, Holloway, Broberg, Lavoie, Bourgault) as much runway as he can.

Would I Love to see a creative way to add Erik Karlsson absolutely I would but I genuinely don't believe Holland will go that route.
