The guy's fragile and he isn't having a great season anyway. He' a number 2 d-man at best. So you say that MTL should give up a 4th d-man + a 1st line winger for a d-man injured all the time??? And MTL gets weaker on the left side, which is already a major weakness??? Dude stop.
Plus Anas is 26, Dnnato is a 3rd liner and a 5th is pretty much worth nothing. Peohling is worth much more than that.
And MTL isn't desperate to get rid of Weise, it's not like he has a 6 year term with a 4 mil cap hit
Bergevin passes, and it's a pretty easy decision.</div></div>

Not at all, from trades I have seen, and russo (wild reporter) suggests, dumba would nab you domi plus (which in this case is mete), donato is on the uptick, and anas is playing his best hockey and LEADING the ahl in points. Mete is a decent prospect defensively and Poehling is someone we havent seen (or at least I havent) much of yet. Time will tell
dumba for domi, mete
anas donato, pick - poehling

At current moment
Brodin > or = to Domi
Donato > Poehling
1st round pick > or = Mete
Plus you are retaining salary. Wild can not afford to lose trades.</div></div>
I hear you, and don't necessarily disagree with you. Comparing Brodin to Domi isn't really fair, Domi has more "production," whereas Brodin does a lot nobody sees and don't get me wrong I love Brodin. I don't necessarily think the Wild lose this trade. Poehling has only had a sniff of the league, and he has a high ceiling, higher than donato. And I would call the first rounder from PITT more of a second rounder IMO.
Also imagine Kap - Domi - Fiala buzzin around the ice on a line

Dawn of a New Era
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Paul13</b></div><div>I just can't figure out why most of you want the Wild to get Domi?
If you want a number 2 center, which is what I think he is, then you are better off waiting and seeing how far away Khovanov is next year.
Domi's numbers to me do not look like number 1 center numbers.
I think the Wild need to find a true number 1, I think Domi is better than what we have at the moment, but I can't stand the thought of the Wild settling on more average.
Wild are better off clearing cap space and acquiring prospects and picks with a few exceptions and staying patient.</div></div>
Domi put up 72 in his first year with MTL, and (like dumba) is having a down year. IMO Domi is solid and a new team/system may help him excel. ESPECIALLY playing with talent like Kap on the left. People had the same thoughts about Fiala when we traded for him and currently he is playing like a certified star.

I hear ya, but 2020 draft is wayyyy deeper than 2021, we have some pretty decent prospects (not a ton). I am fine either way, this is just a thought and if we somehow someway could dump dubnyk somewhere i would be immensely happy

Seeler hasn't played in the NHL since December 7th.
Seeler has only played 6 AHL games and 6 NHL games this entire season meaning he's a borderline AHL/ECHL guy it seems.
Seeler hasn't had any opportunity to understand the Hawks system.
This IMO is coincidence that he was picked up off of waivers from the Wild and the Hawks happen to be playing them tomorrow night. The reality is, Seeler isn't much of a NHL player and the hawks need more defensive depth in Rockford given that Boqvist is now with the Hawks, Gilbert was called up yesterday and Holm departed back to Sweden last month.</div></div>

About my previous post about Suter
I like the value of the trade, and yes retention has to happen and for this trade to go down. I just don't see Wild moving there #1LHD to a division rival. Trades within the division are rare, although not uncommon. I dont know, it is an interesting trade.

I would tend to agree with most of your points. BUT, like you said Suter is such a consistent D, and still has so much game left in him, and still has an advantage for the wild to keep him. I think moving Brodin makes way more sense to me. Younger guy on a decent contract, with a lot of upside. Especially with the unexpected play of rookie Soucy, having Suter/Spurgeon Soucy/Dumba as your top 4 looks pretty darn good
