Trade with Caps

I would love to see Liljegren earn a spot in the lineup next year but I would like some kind of insurance policy like a Hainsey just in case he's not ready. I thought the goat really picked up his game this year and he looked a lot quicker than previous years. Would like to see him throw the body a bit more though.

If Marner doesnt take the Bridge Deal

You are right. I chose Anaheim because they were first on the list. Have to think Edmonton would be really interested.

Well let's all cross our fingers that Dermott is a quick healer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SammyT_51</b></div><div>Why would he?</div></div>
Why not? Maybe he thinks he can put up 130 points and win the art ross next year. I don't think a bridge is a negative for Mitch.

Bridge
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MJ87</b></div><div>Oilers get screwed in that trade remove that pick. Why would marner be a team guy? Everyone else got paid so I’m sure he will too.</div></div>
I'm not to familiar with Oilers prospects. I didn't realize Bear would be so costly. They will get the best they can get regardless of which team they trade with.
I think Marner will be a team guy because he seems like the most likely to be a team guy. I also think 8.5 on a 2 year bridge is more than fair. If he doesn't see it that way and wants the term then Kadri or Johnsson are gone too.

Bridge
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div>Lets say all this happens. Is this rendition of the Leafs better than last year and doe they beat Boston or Tampa in the playoffs? Tampa is a wild card with the way they went out early this year so lets assume Tampa is the top dog again in the conference and the Leafs have to play Boston again in the first round.</div></div>
I honestly don't see them being a better team until Marleau is off the books. Hopefully some of the young guys in the system that get a chance next year surprise us. I think this is still a play off team so maybe a deadline signing if someone is available for the right price. And maybe Kyle has another trick up his sleeve and he finds away to dump Marleau this summer.

Hey, sign what ever trash you want. I don't see those guys as huge upgrades on Polak, but thats just my opinion. The Leafs will get what they pay for and the bottom line is they can't afford to spend much on D next year if they want to keep all their forwards.
Should be interesting to see what Dubas does.

Small Tweeks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jack_</b></div><div>there are so many better trade options then myers, lilly isnt nhl ready much less 1st pair ready. zaitsev is most likely getting moves but most of all polak? im not sure if this is serious or not</div></div>
Like I said in the notes with the trade, could be any young RHD prospect. Basically just cutting ties with Kadri. I do think you are right about Liljegren, maybe a little wishful thinking with him i guess.
As for moving Zaitsev, it may be possible but then you have to replace him as well. Not sure GMs will be lining up to give you their good D contracts for your bad ones.
I'm not a big Polak fan but signing him is just being realistic. Money is going to be tight and he is cheap and plays 19 minutes a night on a team that is playing in the second round. We can upgrade when the Marleau contract is off the books.
